No outside filters are needed.

Materials:
A tube. One that is taller than it is?wide may work best.

Let's begin!

1. Open?your tube.
?
2. Duplicate image and close original.
?
3. Resize your tube to a maximum of?200 pixels in width. Let the height self-adjust.?Take note of the height of your tube (you will need it in a later step).
?
4. Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen (if necessary).
?
5. Edit, Copy.
?
6. From your tube, choose a?light color for your foreground. Choose a dark?color for your background.
?
7.?File, New:

Width:?250 pixels.
Height:?Height of your resized tube +?50?pixels.
Raster background, transparent.

8. Selection Tool, Custom Selection:

Left: 200
Right: 50
Bottom: Height of your canvas.

59. Select your magic wand tool:

Mode: Replace.
Match mode: RGB Value.
Tolerance: 10.
Contiguous checked.
Feather: 0.
Anti-alias checked.

60. Holding down your shift key, click on your dark checkers and dark 3 pixel side border.
Continue to click to choose any other parts of your tube you would like to add noise to.
?
*Note: If your magic wand is picking up more than the areas you wish to select, try lowering the tolerance level. Similarly, if your magic wand is not picking up the areas you wish to select, raise the tolerance level.
?
61. With your top layer still active:
?
Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise, Gaussian 15%, Monochrome Checked.
?
62. Activate your middle layer.
?
63. Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise, Gaussian 20%, Monochrome Checked.
?
64. Activate your bottom layer.
?
65. Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise, Gaussian 25%, Monochrome Checked.

66. Selections, Select None.

67. File, Save As:
?
File Name: Choose a name for your file and a place to save it.
Save as type: Paint Shop Pro Image

Click Options:
Compression: LZ77
Version: Save As: PSP 5 Compatible file.

Click OK.

Click Save.

68. Open Jasc Animation Shop 3.
?
69. File, Open. Find your saved stationary.

70. View, Animation. Check to see that your noise is animated the way you want it.

71. Close your preview.

72. File, Save As:

File name: Give your file a name. (Ex. "Stat")
Save as type: CompuServe Graphics Exchange .gif

Click Save.

A box (animation quality versus output quality) will pop up. Click Next.
At the Optimization Progress box, click next.

At the Optimization Results box, click finish.

Part 1: Preparations

1. Open your tube. Duplicate (shift +D) your tube. Close the original.

2. Using your Eye Dropper Tool, choose a light color from your tube for your foreground and a?darker color for your background.
?
3. Image, Resize:

Width: No more than?300 pixels
Height: No more than 350 pixels
Resample Using: Smartsize
Lock Aspect Ratio: Checked
Resize All Layers: Checked

4. Adjust, Sharpness, Sharpen (if necessary).

5. Edit, Copy.

Part 2: Create Your Background

1. Image, Canvas Size:

Numbers: Default except change left number to 20.

Part 3: Assemble Your Stat In LC

1. Open Incredimail Letter Creator and assemble your file as a new stationery.?

2. In the "Body Tab" choose "Image" and enter?your canvas you have saved. Be sure to click "Tile".
?
3. Choose your fonts, margins, create your footer, title your stat, etc. ?
?
4. Please remember to give credit to any artist's work which you may have used in your work. If the TOU requires use of a license number, e.g., don't forget to include it.
