Skill level: Advanced Beginner. This tutorial assumes you know how to install and use plugins in Paint Shop Pro. This tutorial was written using PSP version #10.
Required Supplies:
Programs: Paint Shop Pro () Incredimail Letter Creator ()
Filters: Richard Rosenmen's Pixelate?? Mura's Seamless and FM Tile Tool?
Materials: A tube or graphic of your choice. (Note: If using a graphic you may want to apply a mask to your image. This step is not included in the following tutorial.)
Let's begin!
1. Open tube or image of choice in Paint Shop Pro.
2. Copy the original and duplicate once. Close the original.
3. Resize the tube or image to a maximum width of 300 pixels. Sharpen your image if necessary using the sharpen tool of your choice from the Adjust menu in PSP.
4. Duplicate the resized tube or image and minimize one copy.
5. Choose two colors from your tube or image using your eye dropper tool; one light to medium color for the foreground and one medium to dark color for the background.
6. On one copy, resize to 1280 x the height of your tube or image + 25 pixels. Make sure "Lock Aspect Ratio" is *unchecked*.
7. Add a new raster layer and send it to the bottom. Using the floodfill tool, add the medium to dark color to the bottom layer.
8. Merge visible the image layer and floodfilled layer.
9. Apply "seamless tile" at default setting (corner, bidirectional) in the Effects menu.
10. Apply Gaussian Blur at 10 in the adjust menu.
11. Apply the filter Pixelate from the Richard Rosenmen plugin collection in the Effects menu using the following settings:?
Horizontal: 20 Vertical: 20 Mix: 50 Outline: 10 Outline: Additive checked R, G, B and Lock Horizontal/Vertical checked.
12. Apply the filter Shift At Wave from the Mura's Seamless plugin collection with its default setting.
13. Apply the filter Blend Emboss from the FM Tile Tools plugin collection with its default setting. Repeat if desired.
14. Apply "seamless tile" at default setting (corner, bidirectional) in the Effects menu.
15. Add a new raster layer and floodfill with your light to medium foreground color. Lower the opacity of this layer until your canvas is text friendly.
16. You may choose to add texture or noise to your floodfilled color layer now if you wish.
17. Merge visible these two raster layers together.
18. Apply "seamless tile" at default setting (corner, bidirectional) in the Effects menu.
19. Your tube or image should still be on your clipboard. Use "paste as a new layer" to add a copy of your tube or image to your canvas.
20. Move the tube or image to the far left of your canvas but leave room for a drop shadow on all sides.
21. Add an inner bevel and/or drop shadow of your choice to the tube or image layer.
22. Add any accents, extras or text you wish to have on your stationary at this time.
23. Add a new raster layer and apply your watermark.
24. Merge all layers flat.
25. Export as a .jpeg under the file menu. Set the optimization level at 25.
26. Open Incredimail Letter Creator and create a new stationary using your saved background canvas.
