I think the latest CabConverter should run (although not jump to Bur Sur yet). There are instructions on the site on how to run it in latest OS - basically you have to run it from the terminal app. See?

The future is Skookum Logger, but we should be able to get your QSOs converted for the recent contest. CabConverter supports the ARRL DX contest. If you start the program from the command line of the Terminal application you should be able to go through the steps. If you do have trouble, let us know and we'll lend a hand.

Re: Late to the Party?

Good morning,

I just got a new MacBook Air, so I can run CabConverter on the version you have. But, to be safe, if you email me your ADIF file (ne1rd --at-- arrl -- dot -- net) I will do the conversion for you. You'll have to edit the resulting text file to fill in your name, address, etc., but that shouldn't be too bad.

In the mean time, you could try to install CabConverter again and run it from the Terminal application as described on the main web page in GroupsIO.

I'll do the conversion for you after work. I know we have a log submission deadline fast approaching.

THANKS ALL. Since I only had 40 contacts for the check log I decided to use ARRL’s utility (on the contest page) and just typed them in. For future contesting I’ll just get RUMLOG. Decades in and still learning, but thanks for the the support and suggestions. 73 W6MVT

My Mac OS is Big Sur and I found that using MLDX plus CC to be awkward enough that I chose to find another plan. RumLog seems to work okay.

Good Luck!

I do it this way because the current Aether does not export to an acceptable Cabrillo file (hopefully future versions will fix this).

Hope this is useful,

Re: Late to the Party?

Hi Scott
I am using Cab Converter 2.05 and logging with MLDX. I had zero issues exporting adi file from logger and converting it to a cabrillo file with CabConverter last night after ARRL DX. Since I can't seem to get a handle on how to make Skookumlogger work for me, I will stick with the MLDX>CC arrangement. All the contests that are meaningful to me are covered by these two apps. I am running Mojave on a WorkBook Pro.

Late to the Party?

Like many, just returned last year to ham radio after decades away. ?Lots of progress, like Cabconverter, BUT I see it's at its sunset. ?Was just getting ready to try it when I saw the developer's message. ?Was going to use it to send in a 40-item check log for ARRL DX contest just completed but now it looks like I'm too late. ?Skookum next time, but should I bother now (Big Sur) or just submit hand log and move on to SL for future. ?Thanks, W6MVT

ref ssb

There is no recipie for the ref ssb contest. Does that exist? It exist in macloggerdx contest list.?

My apologies?to all involved.? I was venting a little frustration.? Of Course it is a matter of money.? And of course Apple wants a lot of it.? I just didn't stop to consider the big picture. Again .. apologies.

Everything was fine until Apple started to increase their security (see past messages). As it is now, with Scott, David & others, are no longer moving forward with CabConverter and there really is no reason for them to spend any funds.?
They’ve given us a free app. (and their time) to use and it’s worked great. But, time moves on. Again, tnx for CabConverter.

Are you offering to pay the Apple Tax in order to release a signed app?

It’s one of the downsides of Apple’s walled garden. ?There is a cost associated with building signed apps.

It would be nice but I understand why the developer may not wish to jump through the hoops.
