CabConverter Version Number skew
Colleagues,
There was something of a scramble when we discovered that CabConverter was acting up on some computers. It might have been me: I might have built it wrong once. But I also know that some things have been changing in the Mac-Java-world, also, if only in the security settings. I planned on putting out a release with small improvements when this series of hiccups hit. And, I wasn't all that careful about version numbers when I was just trying to get things to work. The bottom line is: I plan on releasing a new version (say, version 2.2) in the near future that should run on everybody's Mac, and have those few niceties in it.? Sorry for the mess. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY TROUBLE RUNNING THE PROGRAM. I may have missed something, and I'd very much like to get back to a stable release we could live with for a while. Thank you, and as always, GL in the contest! -- Scott (NE1RD) |

开云体育Thanks Scott,Here are the answers to your questions: 1) I’m running macOS Catalina Version 10.15.1 2) For Java: ?Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 14.0.1+7) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.0.1+7, mixed mode, sharing) 3) I am trying to start the CabConverter.jar file from within the directory in which it lives and see the file with the list command. Any help you might be able to provide would be great. ?The tool you created looks very very helpful. Regards, Mark

Re: CabConverter.jar Error On Launch
Hello,
Sorry you are having trouble! Can you tell me a few things? Maybe I can help. 1. The version of MacOS you are running (about this Mac under the Apple menu). 2. When you type "java -version" into the terminal window, what does it say? 3. When you are starting CabConverter from the terminal window with "java -jar CabConverter.jar", are you in the directory where this Jar file lives? That is, if you do an "ls", do you see the Jar file? Thanks, -- Scott (NE1RD and author of CabConverter) |
CabConverter.jar Error On Launch
When I try to open CabConverter.jar I get an error window with the message:? The Java JAR File "CabConverter.jar" could not be launched.? Check the Console for possible error messages.? Checking the console didn't yield any useful information so I tried running the file from a Terminal window.? When I run from Terminal I get the following error:? java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: CabConverter.? Any thoughts?? Many thanks!

IARU HF World Championship recipe refreshed
Colleagues,
I have updated the files for the IARU HF World Championship contest. Please (as always) read the documentation and set up MacLoggerDX as described.? I will be in the contest myself, so I will test the recipe upon the close of the contest. If there are problems, I'll upload a fix to the recipe. 73 and GL in the contest! -- Scott (NE1RD and author of CabConverter) |
Re: CabConverter doesn't read any QSOs from my ADIF file
Thinking about this a little more: YOU MUST GENERATE YOUR ADIF FILE FROM MacLoggerDX and use the instructions that came with the recipe. Generating it from another source, like Logbook of the World, will not populate the SRX, SRXn, STX, and STXn elements of the ADIF record, the very elements that contain the exchange data. The instructions that _SHOULD_ come with every contest tell you how to set up MacLoggerDX to capture this information properly.?
Generating the ADIF from another source is the root of the problem here. -- Scott (NE1RD and author of CabConverter) |

开云体育The technique that I’m using (and I just tested it again) is to highlight the QSOs (“click" on the first one then “shift click" at the end of the range). Without moving the mouse, right click and select “Export to ADIF”. ?This creates “MacLoggerDX_Export.adi”.Double click on “CabConverter.jar". ?Select “File -> open “ADIF File” that was saved in the previous step. Just to test as I’m writing this, I selected the last 5 QSOs and they showing up in CabConverter. ?Works the same in CabConverter 2.05 and 2.10. Final step is to select “File -> Generate Cabrillo File”. The only issue that I see is the QSO are listed in last to first order. ?Cabrillo file that was created by “N3FJP” is first to last. Does that make a difference when submitted??? ? ?Barry ? ?K6ZGW

Re: CabConverter doesn't read any QSOs from my ADIF file
One thing I discovered through trial and error was the need to “select all” QSOs in Maclogger for the save to export.? On Mon, Jun 29, 2020 at 23:19 <kh6gk@...> wrote: I'm having the same problem. I exported a FD ADIF file from MacLogger DX to my desktop, but when I tried to upload to Cab Converter, nothing happened. Any help appreciated. |
