Pls be careful of your connections. Bear in mind that it's harmful
dealing with current . . . no TRIAL & ERROR for this . . . if ur not
familiar bring it to ur nearest service center . . . no jokes! jc

Hi, JJ:
I've not heard of a transformer with a center tapped primary.
If, indeed, the primary is center tapped, use only the full winding
at the
higher voltage or either half of the winding at the lower voltate.
Leave the
unused end 'floating,' do NOT tie the two outside wires together.
Now, if what you have is actually two windings (four wires) that
can be set
up as either 120 or 240 volts, that's a different matter. In that
case, you
tie the two 'bottom' ends together and the two upper ends together
for 120
volt operation, or you tie the hi end of one to the low end of the
other
and use the two outside wires for 240 volt operation.

|
|Okay, my turn for a power supply question.
|My transformer has a center tapped primary, 110v/220v. Do I
connect the
|two outer legs together and use them with the center tap for 110v?
Or
|use it half-coil <g> and use one leg and the center tap.
