focus inside tube
Gary Jarrette
I hate to show my ignorance but I am not sure what you are referring to when you say "come to focus inside the tube". As far as the two knobs goes though if it is an Edge then the two knobs are mirror locks.? You would loosen them,? focus,? then snuggle them up again.? This must be done every time you focus if you are using g the stock screw focuser. Gary Carpe Noctem Sent From My Spaceship via Nexus 5

No it's not an edge, it's a C14A. The two knobs are shipping screws and have to be removed completely. Why Celestron's manual??? doesn't mention this,I can't imagine.

? Thank you sir. You should get a job writing manuals for Celestron.

This has been my single biggest complaint of Celestron so far; critical
items not appearing in the C14 user manual. The hex shipping screws are at the top of the list. Without first removing those screws, you can ruin your primary if you try to wrench the focus knob beyond its resistance. In April spent at least an hour fretting about it over my new C14 EdgeHD, then desperately ran to CN for data. There, 1 or 2 helpful souls on page 3 or 4 of a discussion had answered the question last year for another member. Anyway, for your apparent focus issue you should call Celestron Tech Support. 开云体育Kerry,? To clarify.? ? ?The shipping bolts attach to the mirror holder with it all the way to the rear. This causes the the focus to be in the tube when on a sky object. With the locks removed you will able to move the mirror forward by turning the focus nob. This will move the focus back. Scott On Jul 14, 2015, at 3:42 AM, Kerry Koppert kkoppert@... Not sure if the C14_Edge is the same as the old C14 that used a sliding tube moving mirror focuser with a single lead screw on one lobe of a three lobed bracket for focus position. It appears that the Edge uses the same sliding tube ?moving mirror focuser with the addition of mirror locks on the two other lobes that have to be locked each time focused to prevent mirror flop. ?I believe this makes it impossible to have autofocus without mirror flop using the moving mirror focuser. Not good in Hyperstar mode which is only focused using the moving mirror focuser. The original C10 used a three lead screw arrangement for focusing. ?I have a Max Bray Mak-Cass that used the left over C10 10" primaries which were blanchard ground down to 9.5" after production stopped on the C10.
