Thomas, That is one of the two Safety stop screws for your OTA Orange Aluminum mounting bracket. I have one extra and not using it at rear end of OTA. Cheers... Ali [C14_EdgeHD]

I would suggest using it at the end of the orange rail to prevent the scope from accidentally sliding off when pointed at the zenith. Worked on mr CGE PRO Lou
