Re: Installation of a FeatherTouch SC Microfocuser. Hard to turn focuser knob..fix?

Re: Installation of a FeatherTouch SC Microfocuser. Hard to turn focuser knob..fix?
The surface that that is machined in the rear casting of the scope is not perpendicular to the mirror threaded shaft. That is why Feather Touch supplies an ¡®O¡¯ Ring to put between the Feather

Re: Installation of a FeatherTouch SC Microfocuser. Hard to turn focuser knob..fix?
that is not right. 1) remove Feather Touch 2) check the action of the scope focus 3) check the action of the Feather Touch 4) re-install Good luck! Stan

Installation of a FeatherTouch SC Microfocuser. Hard to turn focuser knob..fix?
Original focuser was normal and easy to turn. The FeatherTouch is very difficult to turn. The threads on the focuser shaft were untouched throughout the installation and the feathertouch nut turned

Re: removing tri-lobed plastic cover from secondary
no sticker on this one and certainly no screw. I gently drilled through the center with my Dremel and the central screw for the secondary is under it. I am going to have to use my 3" grinder cutting

Re: Celestron reducer lens .7X for EDGEHD 1400
Hi Yasushi.? It makes good sense to check the collimation.? I'd start with a 25 or 26mm eyepiece and defocus a star.? If the blur is circular and the secondary shadow is dead center, then go to the

NGC 1931
I took this photo over the holidays. It was taken from my pasture which is 20 miles from downtown Atlanta. It was taken with a Celestron 11" EdgeHD at its native FL of 2790mm. NGC1931

This is my first Jupiter of this apparition. I finally had good seeing and decided to try my old roof crushed C14 instead of my new HD version, which frankly has inferior optics.

Re: images of the moon taken on August 8, 2015 with the C14
Thanks Tim :-) To be honest. I have no idea of the resolution since it depends a lot on the type and contrast of the detail (crater, rile, etc). In any case, it is better than 1 km. Best regards
