Thanks Robert,
?
The C14 (OTA only) would be mounted on a permanent
mount, so no problem with assembly/disassembly.? The optical quality is
under investigation, I'll know more in a few days, weather allowing.?
Thanks for your input.
?

?

Hello Geert,
Welcome to the C14 group! The biggest concern of any C14 is optical
quality! If you have the chance to check out the optics before buying...do so!
I have seen more good 14's than bad, just be careful! The second concern is
due to the weight and setup time for this wonderful beast. Make sure you want
to go thru the trouble of setting up and taking down each time. I myself
observe at least 20 times per month and I have to setup and break down each
time due to I have no observatory.
I believe this is the greatest sct due
to it's size and yes....one person of average health can put the "basic"
visual scope together within 10 to 15 minutes. What I can see with this scope
in Las Vegas with deep sky objects is astounding compared to smaller sct's or
even larger dobsonians! If you decide on this one or another C14,I know you
will have fun with it.

Skies!
