You're not alone. :-)

I'm here and will be asking for some advice soon. I am the new director of
the Madison Metropolitan School District's observatory. We have a CM-1400 on
a Bisque Paramount 1100 in a Prodome. SBIG ST7 CCD and CFW-8. It was
originally designed to be used remotely from the internet. There are some
problems (understatement) with that type of operation and I'm strongly
leaning toward exclusive on-site use until I have a much better
understanding of all the hardware/software issues in remote use.

I'm a long-time amateur astronomer who was lucky enough to already work for
the school district (a school psychologist, believe it or not), so I got the
nod when the previous director (and observatory founder) decided to go back
to the classroom.

I'll post more soon. I hope you guys don't mind my leaning heavily on your
experience!

To invoke God as a blanket explanation of the unexplained is to make God the
friend of ignorance. If God is to be found, it must surely be through what
we discover about the world, not what we fail to discover.
