I too use a rear focuser, from Starlight Instruments.
Good construction, very sturdy but not entirely happy with the Focuser Boss motor drivers. The available settings are too fast for fine planetary focusing, I would like it to cycle back and forth the focus position using the hand paddle at a slower rate to be able to judge the focus point, but it's too fast so it overshoots too much most of the time.

Sorry I took so long to get back to you. Below is a link to my YouTube Channel. Once there you will see a short video showing my telescope setup. I use the Optic Gemini Rotatable Focuser.
If you will notice in the very beginning point out and mention that still retain the ability to move the Mirror but do not use it as my primary means of focusing.

This should answer your questions. I recommend Jeff at Optec for focusers and or Dean¡¯s down at Starizona for Focusers.
Wow, I didn't even know that was an option. What kind of rear focuser do you recommend?

I would think that most do not use the mirror to focus as much as rear focusers these days. I only use my mirror Focuser to center the mirror in the center the Rotator/Focusers range. Once done I lock it down. Haven't used the mirror in years.?

I think one backs the locks off (CCW) then focus then turn mirror locks CW until they contact the mirror slightly then recheck focus.? Yes?
