Yes, and it would be unusual to see any train out here with three or more units running "elephant style"/ all the same direction.? Just yesterday a westbound had every other unit "long hood forward".

Depending on the situation; if there are just the two (Motors) locomotives on the front end of a train, by having one facing frontwards, and the other in the opposite ?direction; they, as a pair would not need turning, at the end of a run if they were next set up on the head end another train in the opposite direction. It's for the guys "down the line" from me that sometimes want to shoot a particular unit, like a roster shot. If it's long hood forward in a consist, they may not want that (especially those that want a head on 3/4 wedge shot).?
