Does CPKC still have the 10 - SD70ACe-T4 on their roster?
If so, any idea how long the lease is?
Ontario Southland (OSR) brings cars from St. Thomas, Tillsonburg and
Ingersoll to CP Woodstock.
I have seen, on Walter's Railpast videos, OSR push -? power -? pull cars from
Woodstock heading thru Coakley.
The lead car was a covered hopper and have looked as close as possible
at the video and there does not appear to be a trainman on the lead car.
Thought a trainman was required by the rules. Right??

I use the Rivarossi ones. Add a little weight and passengers and away you go. For anyone in UK I have some on Ebay at the moment,?

Re: CPR Empress 2816 Rapido model
None of the four cars being offered by Rapido as part of the Canadian Pacific Executive Fleet is a heavyweight car. The 101 "Dominion" and 102 "E.S. Smith" are both ex-CN/VIA CC&F 1954 streamlined coaches. The 110 "H.B. Bowen" is an ex-CN/VIA E-series Pullman-Standard streamlined duplex sleeper. The Dome-Lounge 3605 "Selkirk" is an ex-Amtrak/Southern Pacific car, originally built by Pullman-Standard in 1937 and completely rebuilt by SP in 1954-55.
?
The Athearn cars look like they could be reasonable stand-ins for CP heavyweight equipment. They aren't prototypically accurate for CP cars, but this may not matter much for a display layout.
?
David Bedard's Bedarail 3D printing operation may soon be coming out with accurate HO scale versions of various CP heavyweight and streamlined passenger cars. He has been doing impressive work in N scale and is apparently getting a new 3D printer big enough to do full-length HO scale passenger cars.

Re: CPR Empress 2816 Rapido model
Good day, I see that Athearns has some heavyweight passenger cars coming up someday. Not sure how accurate or prototypically correct they would be. Here's a link to the Athearns cars............. I also have a buddy that has 3 Branchline CP coach kits. Again I don't know how accurate they are. Thanks, Tim

If you purchased the oil burning Empress 2816, this model represents 2816 as it has been restored and is operational today. In this case you would require a consist as it appears today. As you want prototypical heavyweights this means either scratch building heavyweight cars or signing up for the Rapido cars as they are today. As another has suggested, you can sign up for a current consist of heavyweight cars from Rapido. Had you purchased a coal burning CP 4-6-4, you would have still had problems putting a heavyweight consist together but there are options if you could find some BGR heavyweight resin kits. BGR is out of business though you could try RR shows as some may be available if you go that route. Mike |

looking to build a heavyweight passenger train for my brand new CPR Hudson 2816 Empress
Good day,
?
Not sure if I have the correct group or not..........I'm creating a model railroad for the Canadian Pacific Railroad..
?
Anyway.......I just purchased RapidoTrains CPR Hudson #2816, Empress. That is the among the most beautiful steam locomotives
?
I've ever seen!! So I want to create a passenger train based on this locomotive. Can't afford Brass!!!
?
My goal is to be prototypically accurate and correct. Does anybody know of any heavyweight passenger cars
?
that would fit right in with this locomotive??
?
Thanks, have a good day!

Re: 7431 +
I've seen pictures from this week of them just entering service. They are tier 4 GEVOs, model ET44AC, same as the KCS 5000 - 5024 group.?

Full Holiday Train Consists
U.S. train:
CP 2246, 220009, 220592, 220219, 220225, 220305, 220451, 401754, 401750, 101, 79, 73, 82 -CP 2317 was added ahead of 2246 in Toronto on Nov.24 after 2246 gave up the ghost. How long it remains depends if they can make 2246 come to life. Canadian train: CP 2249, 220332, 220037, 220476, 220300, 220127, 2200031, 220458, 220508, 42901, 102, 84, 110, 77 -NBSR 6416 was used ahead of 2249 on the NBSR. NBSR 6410 pulled the train backwards from Saint John to McAdam where the train was wyed and NBSR 6410 dropped. |
Re: Holiday trains locomotives
I think Bill was asking about the full train consists. The engines are still 2246 and 2249, although the east coast segment was lead by a NBSR loco. Ken G. On Sun, Nov 24, 2024 at 11:22?AM G Burridge via <gburridge=[email protected]> wrote:

Someone(Bill Miller I think) asked about the numbers for the locos on the Holiday trains. Did I miss the reply?
