Does anyone know if they did a proper job on the 3084, the right colorsand proper number and lettering style, or is it botched up like the F's?The lettering on the Fs does have a lot to be desired. But what is wrong with the colours? Yes, the letters are tape instead of paint, but what are the other problems? Gordon Webster Windsor, Ontario, Canada gordon67@... |
9300-9301 at Cartier March 26, 2000
Ian Harris
I managed to catch up with 9300 and 9301 and the North End or the Larchwood siding at Mile 95.8 Cartier sub and got some pictures there then continued up to Cartier and Pull in at the same time as the train. They had to stop at Cartier for a crew cahnge so i shot a roll of film there and even got a change to have a look in the cab, there is quite a bit of room up there there were 4 people in the cab and still some room to walk around. I was in a hurry to leave and forgot my notbook so i didn't catch the paint schemes on the other units. I'll find out when i get the roll developed. 9300 bleched out quie a bit of black smoke as it was pulling out of Cartier too bad i didn't have the camera ready for that.
Cartier 12:05 #401-26 9300 - Golden Rodent - Nice and Clean too 9301 - Golden Rodent - clean also compared to the other units in the consist 9636 9555 8517 8518 9140 L8R Ian Harris Mile 79 CP Cartier Sub. Mile 276.1 CN Bala Sub Mile 0 CN Ruel Sub. |

If CP is willing to repaint a 4 axle unit in it's beautiful maroon and greyschemes o other 4 axle units? It does not make sense. Tom.CP 3084 is a spare for the tour train, painted to "match" the F's. Bill |
408
Ross Harrison
408 is a manifest train (Alyth to Toronto).
The lack of AC power on the QGRY and OVR probably has as much to do with the lack of insurance these carriers have as well as crew training, etc. No AC power is permitted on the OVR for those reasons and I'm sure it's the same for the QGRY. When the grain train derailed near Lochalsh this winter, AC power was initially banned from the trains detouring via CN. Subsequently the AC units were permitted, as trail only, and then allowed to operate as leaders after CN issued special operating bulletins to thier RTE's (running trades employees). Ross Harrison |
CPR Photo Archive seeking contributors ......
Bill Miller
Good evening folks:
I'm looking for contributions to the CPR Locomotive Roster and Photo Archive. Lay that old maroon and gray on us !! Have a peek at: " or " and you will see what I'm working towards. I will even steal things from your web site if you authorize such. Please let me know. Hopefully, this will evolve into a great resource for us all. I will be posting weekly messages to C-P-R noting what has been added. Thanks. :) ======================================================================== Bill Miller Canadian Pacific Railway News Editor - CTC Board Railroads Illustrated List Moderator - C-P-R@... ======================================================================== The View From Galt Station ICQ# 9907692 " Canadian Pacific Railway Diesel Locomotive Roster " ======================================================================== |

surely we are getting more maroon/tuscan and grey units out there, although some are variations of the scheme. A shot of Pacific Wilderness GP10 706 at Wellcox Yd was posted to a.b.p.r. by Bob Winkler yesterday and although obstructed by some brush, it and it's sister are also in a tuscan, grey and yellow scheme. =============== Rainer Auer Morinville, AB =============== ----- Original Message -----

Re: Agincourt Yard?
Jeff Semper
Either way it is best to get a waiver rather than "sneaking in", better to
play it safe than to get charged for trespassing!!! Oh and by the way, if your looking to get some good shots there always is the Mactier sub, up here at the VIY there is always something to see. If your into lots of SD's and AC's and Mac's this is the place to spot em', ooops there goes my well kept secret! Jeff Semper Mactier Sub (Burbidge) Woodbridge, On. |

If CP is willing to repaint a 4 axle unit in it's beautiful maroon and grey
scheme, why are they reportedly eager to get rid of the SOO and D&H schemes o other 4 axle units? It does not make sense. Tom. Tom & Sheri Morgan Scranton PA D&H, CP, CAR, MILW,StL&H, SOO The Beaver covers 2 nations |

You will need to stop in at the main building which is where thehump tower is located. I believe the office for the waiver is on the third floor (might have changed) and once again once you have this waiver please proceed with caution.< The building you are talking about is the GYO (general yard office.) It does sit beside the hump, but the ``hump'' tower, actually the retarder tower, is a little further to the east. Gordon Webster Columbus, Ohio, USeh gordon67@... |
