This trackage was the CPR Port Burwell Sub. The trackage
thru the southern part of Tillsonburg was taken out of service
a few years ago as the bridge at mileage 16.23 needed major upgrading.
At least that was the scuttlebutt.
Walked to the tracks just north of the bridge on Friday, Nov. 10th,
?and the tracks have been used. The inside of the rails are reflecting
?sunlight and the tops of the rails indicate some kind of traffic.
The tracks cross Talbot St/Hwy #3 at mileage 17.50 and there is
grooves in the dirt thru the crossing.
South of the crossing is the connecting track to the CN Cayuga Sub.
that has tank cars at the former location of a Red marker.
?These probably have been placed there by GIO units.
Just west of the Vienna Rd. crossing (mlge 94.39) on the Cayuga Sur.
was 2 GIO units.? LDSX1597 and LDSX2003.
Business must have picked up to require 2 units.
Any info on what is taking place on the southern part of the Tillsonburg Spur
thru Tillsonburg would be appreciated.
