Re: Removed Siding White River Sub.

Trains slowing or stopping for meets will occupy nearby crossings and delay road traffic for longer than if they are passing at track speed. So it is preferable to locate passing sidings away from towns. It’s no tragedy.?

I noticed a trend in the last several years that CP tends to favour extending sidings out in the bush rather than in the town, maybe thats what this is.?
On the Nipigon sub, they extended the siding at firehill, andthen took out the switch in the town so its just a spur line now, only used for the sleeper cars when they have work gangs in the summers.
I think its a tragedy trains will never stop in the town anymore, there's probably a lot of places that's happened.? I saw it mentioned before by CP, trains at rest are trains at risk.

If it was the siding west of Musk, it would have been Wayland.

I'll try again.

Watching 'Tripping The 185' on TVO last night, you can see west of Musk that a siding has been recently removed. It is on the 'north' side of the main. Just wondering if anyone knows which siding it would've been.
