With the fall colours on the North Shore in their peak, I would set off taking in today¡¯s action. In addition Bill Miller had been up in the area for the week so I had made plans to meet him at Neys and then work towards White River.

?

I was woken up by 119¡¯s train pulling behind the house to meet 112 in the middle of the night before going back to sleep.

I finally wake up and make some breakfast before setting out for the day. I didnt think it would take that long but the time flew by! I head down to the dog patch and wait for 420 who would take the siding for a huge 113.

I follow this pig of a 113 towards Neys where I meet up with Bill. CP 118-24¡¯s train would take the siding at Steel and we would then follow 118¡¯s train all the way into White River!

This 118 was a rocket today and after some blabbing waiting we damn near missed him so wasn¡¯t the best here¡ And the sun even made an appearance!

With just a handful of spots between Hemlo and White River I decided it is best to head straight into White River. Trains 421 and 101 would be closing in and nobody including the RTC knew where the meet would take place! Finally the RTC/Director made the ¡°executive decision¡± to¡ Train 421 came into the passing track to crew change. The outbound was to call the RTC who finally said nope you will see 118 there. Just as 118 was approaching (who fits everywhere) they are instructed to pull down the main and then reverse out the West end behind 421¡¯s train to meet 101¡¯s train.

We then head towards O¡¯Brien to get one last shot of 118 and then wait an hour for the damn Budd Car. Last week the quad set was together and of course this trip it is just a pair¡ Figures! They would go and clear in the old Girdwood siding for 118¡¯s train instead of a nice Amyot meet!

I part ways with Bill here as he heads off to Sault Ste Marie and eventually back home after a week on the North Shore. I wasn¡¯t sure if they would go to the station today or not. Back in July the eastbound run loaded up and left straight from the yard. To my luck they did infact pull down to the station and I was surprised to see 15-20 passengers get off on this trip. If only a new set of crew¡¯s would board for the 6-7 hour run to Thunder Bay!

?

1523 CP 85V-26 arrives into the passing track, detrains passengers at the station and then head to tie up in the yard

?

I would then header home to relax for the evening and watch the jays crush the oriols with some friends over for drinks and a bbq. I was quite thirsty (and hungry) after just eating breakfast at 9am and smashing a few gatorades through the day! Of course the action wouldn¡¯t stop there with a trio of eastbounds rumbling past the house!
