September 24, 1958 The Buffalo & Lake Huron Railway, Atlantic & St. Lawrence Railroad, St. Clair Tunnel Company, Champlain & St. Lawrence Railroad, United States & Canada Railroad and the Vermont & Province Line Railroad are all merged into Canadian National Railways.

September 24, 2002 Although required on certain classes of trains on earlier dates, ditch lights now become mandatory on all Canadian trains.
