change gear sets on epay
I don't need these for my lathe but they are inexpensive and might work for others with older lathes or even for any gearing projects. Seems like this Vevor brand is really ramping up to try and be a

Re: J Head Stepbelt vs 2J Vari-drive Head - which to put into use
Adding a VFD and braking resistor allows almost seamless reversals.? You don't have to wait for the spindle to stop and then reverse to keep it from banging.? With a VFD, the VFD controls the

Re: J Head Stepbelt vs 2J Vari-drive Head - which to put into use
I really like the vfd with brake option. Means I don't have to wait very long for the spindle to slow down when I hit the stop button. Saves considerable time and, heaven forbid, perhaps some pain

Re: J Head Stepbelt vs 2J Vari-drive Head - which to put into use
I've maybe moved the belts twice in the 15 or so years I've had my 1J- but I adjust the vfd speed frequently and occasionally drop into backgear.??? Never have maxed out the 1J but perhaps I don't

Re: J Head Stepbelt vs 2J Vari-drive Head - which to put into use
George: Thank you for pointing out the spindle pulley was also different - I would have expected them to be the same for either hp 2J head. ________________________________ Sent: Tuesday, March 28,

Re: J Head Stepbelt vs 2J Vari-drive Head - which to put into use
Just a note, if you look at the head parts list in the M105 manual, it has the parts list separated by HP. The motor diameter is different thus the vari discs on the motor were different. The timing

J Head Stepbelt vs 2J Vari-drive Head - which to put into use
Twenty five years ago I bought a Bridgeport mill that came with a partial 2J vari-drive head (missing motor & vari pulleys). I never found a reasonable priced motor back then and ended up buying a

My nephew just broke the 1/2" collet on his M head. $300 each is out of the question for a new one so it looks like I'll make him one. Does anyone have a fully dimensioned drawing available so I can

Re: OT Maybe? Hand cleaners
I buy zep ¡°Wild Cherry¡± at Walmart, abrasive as well but seems to work better than the orange product.

Re: OT Maybe? Hand cleaners
My preference is for Goop as well. Seems to be milder on the hands and just effective. I've never cared for the soaps that have abrasives. Always seemed to me they took off more skin than grime. Dan
