Do not run this on the zbitx

Because I was bored, I thought about upgrading buster to bullseye just to see what would happen. Do not run this RPI-UPDATE. This program updates the rpi firmware and breaks the sbitx software. It changes WiringPi and doing a rebuild does not reset it. Also running the sbitx/update does not help. I had to replace the sdcard with a backup to get the radio working again. Leo, AI5II

CW on zbitx

I have fixed the two issues of zbitx on CW. The new update has good keying with Iambic keyer and the cw decode noise is now gone as well. To get this update, you have to: 1. Flash the new firmware (the firmware version is now 1.06). The firmware is available from https://github.com/afarhan/zbitxfrontpanel/raw/refs/heads/main/zbitx_front_panel_sw.ino.uf2 2. Update the new software on the raspberry pi, the latest version with the CW keyng fixed is 3.051 (or later). I tried to update my sBitx but got the error message below. I checked the sbitx directory and found “oled.c” instead. Please advise how to update my sBitx V3. Thanks, Steve WE5K

Even if you did not know who Mike was, you know his work. Mike was a key developer of hamlib in addition to many, many other contributions to our hobby. zBitxWEB Mode [AM Mode not displayed]
'AM' mode is not displayed on my PC when in WEB Mode (the area is dark) .....it is displayed on the zBitx panel. Don in Austin N5CID

zBitx SSB contact
I had a 20M SSB contact with NC from Chicago (640 miles)- got a 1/1 signal report but was able to exchange call signs and name. I think I have a slight amount of desense so probably need to work on that a bit but it definitely worked on SSB. I've had a few FT8 contact also. John KC9OJV

1). Wsjt-x only receives data if the Zbitx display is active on my monitor. 2). Cannot manually start rigctl if I shutdown the zbitx display. Rigctl returns network connection error. 3). With the zbitx display window open and wsjt-x running and the mode set to digital, I cannot use the zbitx display to change bands. Band change only works if it is done via wsjt-x 4). When changing bands on wsjtx the zbitx display shows the correct band reflecting the change but wsjtx does not. 5). Receive works fine BUT cannot transmit/tune from wsjtx. I can transmit and tune from the zbitx display window but not from wsjt-x. NEED HELP with number (5) and clarification with what is going on with rigctl. I'd like to be able to start rigctl from CQRLOG and then run WSJT-X without having the zbitx display active if that is possible Thanks, Leo AI5II

I haven’t updated the v2 since I got it about 2 years ago. I understand it’s possible to load v3 on it, but the update procedure in the manual doesn’t work. Is there a step-by -step procedure somewhere to do this?

On the bottom of my sBitx screen in CW mode are pre recorded messages, CQ, call, reply etc. I could never find these messages because I would like to change them. I have found other variables but never did I find these. Can someone point me in the right direction, please. BTW, this rig is like a big toy box providing more fun than expected. 73, Dean/ N2TNN

Tuning in cw waterfall alignment

Is it just me? I am on 20m 14013 bw300 step 10h the frequency I am listening to I seem to have to put my tuning line on the waterfall some distance to the right of the actual signal I see on the waterfall. I do not find this with other sdr rigs. 73 Nnigrl M0NDE

My adventures with my HB zBITX
Today I successfully tested my HB zBITX with the image shared by HF Signals a few days back. It works well. I tested in without the PICO controller and the display and it worked in the sBITX mode. I was asked this question on zBITX: "Are flat top cells compatible with the zBitx battery holder or are button tops required? Got my radio on order and want to get some batteries before it arrives. I get a little nervous pulling power on a running Linux computer. Probably 9 times out of 10, no issues, but the ONE time....well, a corrupt SD card doesn't sound like fun. The Raspberry Pi Pico running the display can probably deal with things well, my concern is the other CPU. I would feel tons better if there ws a formal shutdown item to click on....any thoughts?
