Ubitx version 4 speaker impedance?

What is the best impedance, size, and wattage for a speaker to be used with the ubitx version 4 board? I read someware 32ohms is this correct??
It may be hard to find tho. I found this speaker on eBay. Would it bework well??

The TDA audio ic used in the earlier uBITX was designed to be used with 32 ohm headphones. The new version 4 has a different audio output stage that should be fine with 8 ohm and possibly 4 ohm speakers. Speaker diameter is just a matter of taste and what will fit the box you are using.?

?I decided to get a pair for my projects.
?Being as I have one small one that came with a parts kit, and one slightly larger one that came out of a dead Mocom 10. I like to salvage where I can.
?I used to have a good junk box, but had to start over again.
?Should work well with LM386's also...

I went ahead and just ordered them. For that price it's worth the shot. I also found these little grills that should work. Should look better than drilling a bunch of holes for a $1.33

FWIW, I used some fine mesh black hardware cloth, e.g. screen door
wire. Cut a piece out of the hardware cloth that is a little larger
than the speaker diameter and run your mounting bolt through from the
top of the cabinet, through the hardware cloth, using the speaker to
clamp the hardware cloth against the underside of the cabinet.

?grills? What grills?
?I could use several of them.
?The speaker from the Mocom has a grill on it, so only need an opening, maybe make it two part when the time comes.

?That seller is a rat, as he will not ship to PO box.And I only get mail at the post office here.
?I'll have to look for another seller.
?I cannot understand why some sellers exclude PO Boxes, as well as APO and FPO.
?APO and FPO do NOT cost any more at all.
?Those who claim it does, for regular mail, are full of horse apples.

?Annoyed in texas.

?I found another seller, and bought 2 sets, so I'll have 4 grills.
?I have a small speaker that came with the parts kit I bought, so 3 will be needed, and it does not hurt to have a spare.
?BTW, I also plan to experiment and see how well a 600 ohm headset will work.
?I glommed on to a whole bunch of them that were tossed by a school district. Good headphones, mono, will need adapter for some things, but I also snagged a unit that a bunch could be plugged into, so have plenty of jacks on hand.
?Also? some small pots to adjust volume, as each jack could be adjusted individually.
?Oh yes, here is the seller I ordered the grills from.

It sometimes takes me longer to find a seller that will ship.
And I do a lot of cussing t the ones that don't.

Well, that seems pretty dumb. ?What difference does it make to them if the shipping is the same?

Some merchants only ship via UPS or FedEx. Those don't do PO Boxes..except..out here they sometimes do. DHL always does. The fix is to give your address as the street number followed by a dash followed by the PO Box. Like this:

201 main street - PO Box 17

Rarely somebody has the same rant over my address. In the big city a postal employee lays your mail right in your hand. Out here we go to the post office to get it. The sellers in the big cities can sometimes not grasp that the rest of the world may be different.

Never mind about Hawaii and Alaska. United States possessions and territories are also served by USPS and the flat boxes are included. I have sent some goodies to hams in Guam in the flat rate boxes:) Sellers who have a 1938 view of the postal system are only hurting themselves. Their ignorance and arrogance might be their undoing.

Check with your post office. In some places where the post office does not offer home delivery the post office will accept mail with your physical address but with your zip code with a dash and your box number, and put it in your box rather than return it. Looks just like a zip + four code. However, some companies' shipping software will remove the + four part of the zip if they think it is invalid.?

Some merchants only ship UPS or FedEx and will NOT ship USPS flat rate. Why? If they are a large merchant and have a national business contract with either UPS or FEDEX they get a large discount, up to 75%, on shipping. They still charge you full ticket and pocket the rest. I recently tried to purchase about $35 worth of transistors and ic's from an online store in Florida, they only ship USP and the shipping charge would be $76, all for a hand full of material that would fit in the smallest USPS flat rate box. I live with this all the time.

?I watch who? buy from, and see that one will? while the next will not.
?I have seen absurd shipping charges, an sellers like that i skip past.
?part of the problem is that my paypal is tied to my PO box address. We have NO home delivery, or mailbox along the road here.

?Others knew what box it was anyway.
?I swear that some of the postal workers are lazy.

Hi,

This all seems to be off topic so let me get it on track. When my club ordered the uBitX as the main door prize for our annual picnic they had it sent to my address because I was hosting the picnic this year. We had to argue with somebody (DHL?) about the PO Box. It came to the PO Box. Then. I ordered one for myself. They said "we can't ship to a PO Box". I shot right back about how they just did. They did again. My own kit arrived at the very same PO Box:)

There are very few problems if that street address is hyphenated with the PO Box. However, there are still a very few who still refuse. Like the rest of you in the same boat, I cross them off my list and spend my money somewhere else. Postal regulations say the mail has to be returned to the sender if that PO Box is not included. However, the postal workers here all have the same level of intelligence as the rest of us (for better or for worse) and they *know* where it goes so they deliver it. Sometimes my mail is even addressed to the wrong post office! it still gets here:) Just a day or two delayed.

This list is for, by, and about people who make things. We order kits, parts, and goodies via the mail (and UPS, FedEx, etc) so shipping problems affect *all* of us.

?My bad, I was not paying enough attention when I ordered the speakers. And what I did order, and receive, are 40mm not 2"/52mm.
