DigiPan and uBITX

Scott

I have wsjt-x working really well with my uBITX.? It's an absolute blast to see how far I can get with 5W and a zero dollar homemade antenna.? ?I've tried to get DigiPan set up to start playing with PSK31 but haven't had much luck with the PTT control.

Has anyone managed to get it to work or is there a better option for PSK31 with this radio?? ?DigiPan doesn't appear to have a CAT control option like wsjt-x.

Thanks!
Scott

Fldigi is probably the most common way of getting PSK31 and other modes like Thor, RTTY, CW, etc. It is widely available on a number of platforms, too. If you want a minimalist version to run on a simple computer like a Raspberry Pi-zero, I have had good luck with LinPSK, which also has RTTY, PSK63, and other modes. Both of these have CAT control using the FT817 command set like WSJT-X does.

I haven't tried it with the uBITX specifically, but fldigi/flrig ¡ª ¡ª does PSK31 and other common digital modes, and it depends upon Hamlib ¡ª ¡ª for low-level compatibility.

There is lot of information about connecting to the uBITX, but you probably already have that down if you're running wsjt-x.

Be aware that the duty cycle can be much higher for PSK31 than for FT8, so you may need a fan to air-cool the final amplifier transistors.

I can also support fldg as a good solution.

The downsize you need to be aware if - it does not support omnirig, so you cannot work with multiple clients simultaneously like log sw which for me it may be a pain.

There are some workarounds like work with virtual serial cable, depends on your applications.

Hello.

For PSK31, I'm using the AirLinkExpress Software (), for several years.

I don't have the uBitx to test it, can you try ??

+1 for Fldigi for digital modes. It is the total bomb, and it loves the uBITX, or at least the WIN10 computer that usb's to the ubitx and supports hamlib.? I've used Fldigi on a RPi clone under ubuntu/etc. and it also works grand.
