What is bitx23?
This is a reboot of the original monoband bitx20 that I am presenting at FDIM today. - f On Thu, May 18, 2023, 5:42 AM <ramonlh@...> wrote: Hi, |

Hello Ashhar,
I quickly browsed through the bitx23 design.? I really like that there is now a 2m transceiver design.? I alsi like usage of a Pico as controller, as this is readily available and nowadays cheaper than a Nano and I also like usage of MMICs, but might use other ones, that I have in my junk box (BGA-614).? For the input stage I would prefer an MMIC like the PGA-103+ due to the low noise figure of <1dB vs 3dB of the AG-303. BTW: There seems to be a typo for the PA transistor. I guess it is a 2N5109 and not a 2N5901 (PNP Germanium). Why did you pick the 2N5109, as this is obsolete and the ones offered on Aliexpress and eBay are either extremely expensive (>€10 with shipping) or most probably fakes? Would a BFQ19 (€0.70 @Mouser) be an alternative, if a bipolar transistor shall be used? I would prefer something like a RD01MUS2/RD15HVF1 or an AFT05MS004 (€2.62 @Mouser, >10000 avaliable). What do you think? -- 73, Joerg - DB2OO |
And that is exactly what you need to do with the BITX concept. Look at the circuit, think it over with your ideas (and what you have laying around) and modify the design. Just try out your thoughts, it will be interesting to read about your results here. ? That¡¯s the way my 6 mtr version is ¡®developed¡¯ ( ) ? Chris PA3CRX |
Nestor, The slides belong to QRPARCI, however, they haven a welcome policy to allow the presenters? to publish their paper online. I will expedite this and publish it in a few days. I am still travelling and am going to be home by 27th. Expect the paper by 1st June. - f On Wed, May 24, 2023, 3:43 AM nestor fernando casari <fernandocasari@...> wrote: Good day to all? |
Why don't one of you do the board? On Fri, Jul 19, 2024, 5:54 PM n4cnr.ham via <n4cnr.ham=[email protected]> wrote:

well I have been working on code and make the pico duino board. I am swamped. if you hand a kicad or eage?cad file of the schematic of the board it would make doing it easier. then we could do it faster. but having to re do everything from the pdf to a cad is time consuming and not easy. also there would be a few mods needed help with like changing the mosfet to the rd15 and adding a power adjust?pot so you can go low 1w to 20w , also for ssb need a mic gain circut?for better output with some mics. other parts to add in future would be a alc att sql if shift. but those can be added in future On Fri, Jul 19, 2024 at 9:22?AM Richard Neese <n4cnr.ham@...> wrote:

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýBITX24 Details Farhan designed/presented a BITX23, 6M SSB in his QSP issue of 2023 and I designed mine in 2024 hence I called it BITX24. ? This idea of my BITX24 was a result of studying 2 designs on the topic , viz Farhan and by Chrix found on YouTube. Both , built on the principals of BITX principal. ? During my earlier development on sBITX, I had already made some Break Out Boards (BoB) based on the uBITX TIA block which I plan to use in this project, hence you see some blocks in my schematic. I have had blocks for a Ladder Filter, Rx/Tx TIA, and a DRM (Diode Ring Mixer). These blocks are no specific design but adapted directly from the uBITX design. ? Signal Source (Si5351) design is external and connected to this board via SMA Connector. ? Using of Blocks has made this design more compact , in my opinion. ? This is just the Exciter Board and the front end BPF/LPF can be adapted from either of their designs. ? I planned to use MAX9814 MIC amp with AGC but then simply copied Farhan's MIC amp as a standby on the PCB. ? Choice of LADDER filter is yours and I would go with Chrix's idea. ? regards Charudatt VU2UPX |
Yes surely, I can release the Gerber. There are a few breakout board used in this project, so will need to add them in the panel and then release the Gerber. Please give me a day or two to make the panel and then share it with you'll. Regards? Charudatt VU2UPX? On Mon, 22 Jul, 2024, 6:02 pm Richard Neese via , <n4cnr.ham=[email protected]> wrote:
