First stone of my "Cocorico Ubitx
Hello to all,?
As I wait for parts to repair my spectrum analyzer, I start something else. This day I just welded my first surface component on my PCB that I imagined. It¡¯s not easy, it¡¯s the first time I¡¯ve gotten into this. It¡¯s only a few millimetres. I have a little less than 400 left to weld. Well, I¡¯ll get better with time. The difficulty is not to weld, but to place it well. See you in 6 months. LOL cdt |

Gerard: FWIW: I find it a lot easier to tin the pads first. Then use a "hook tweeser": to hold it in place (much like the inset picture with the quarter) while I touch one end with the iron. This will hold it in place while I touch up the other end. I usually tin the pads all at once, but that's a personal preference. Jack, W8TEE

Hello Jack,
Yeah, that¡¯s what I do. First I weld a leg, then I can rotate. For a start I am not dissatisfied with my learning I placed 12 transistors in 1H15 or 1 every 6 mms. That¡¯s the most difficult component, I think, because you have to align. And every time he unpacks, he puts himself on his back!! It will go faster for resistances and capacitors. Well, a little rest for the eyes, because I work with a magnifying glass and a philatelist tool to check the alignment cdt |

How 'bout that! I was a serious stamp collector at one time and had a magnifying headset that I used for "fly-specking" stamps. Now I use it for SMD stuff! Jack, W8TEE

Hello,
I n short I have not welded my capacitors and resistances.?I did not know that there were differents models of cms, and so those received were in 0805. Impossible to weld them because the footprint of the pcb does not match. it¡¯s too small for my eyes and which ones have flown away. LOL I found interesting lpackage that contain both resistors and capacitors 1206 on bangood There are also CMS welding learning kits 15 days mini are left to wait cdt |
Are you using weld?to mean the same as solder?? On Sun., Mar. 21, 2021, 2:41 p.m. Gerard, <kabupos@...> wrote: Hello, |

I understand what is meant perfectly well. This is an international forum. Not everyone follows your notions of typical American English usage. Fine with me if he posts in his native language, Google Translate works well enough. I like this one due to price, options and features. On Sun, Mar 21, 2021 at 5:40 PM Gerard <kabupos@...> wrote: Hello, |
That may have come across as a bit caustic, my apologies to Stephen.

He was asking a honest question. I often see the word "welded" instead of "soldered" when looking at kits from overseas. I suspect there are English speaking countries that may use "welded" for this as well. Almost certainly, some languages will use the same word for both processes. Hello to all
I use reverso to translate French into English After if you prefer I can post in French, you will have to do the translation. (Option in Edge) But I think it¡¯s better to put it in English. Evan told me my translations were good.? I found interesting prices on Banggood for a lot 1206 of resistors and capacitors We can pay in Paypal + small free gift (I took a waterproof cover for mobile) + discounts. On the other hand there is no lot on a value. So I ordered on A...o a lot of 100 pieces of capacitors 100nf There are also initiation kits for CMS. I don¡¯t use the expression SMD for components, otherwise Stephen will call me to order. I believe that in English it also means something else. LOL....It¡¯s just a joke. have a nice day cdt |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýTo me it was a perfectly reasonable question to ask ! The guy had probably never heardthat expression before, although in common usage in the States....therefore no need to take the moral high ground and sound condescending ! Dave On 21/03/2021 23:06, Jerry Gaffke via
