ending raduino upgrades

 

hfsigs team says they are ending the upgrades to olde boards that shipped without the raduino on 22nd jan.
if any on the group need the raduino drop a mail quickly to hfsignals@... to get the raduino board at 14 usd.

That address is not just used to order upgrades so it's likely either a technical problem or you didn't type the address correctly.

I found that I had been using the wrong email address on my earlier unsuccessful attempts. It must be the hfsignals format, not the hfsigs abbreviated version.

Well, I requested but got no answer earlier. Then I requested again when the announcement of ending came out and they did reply. However, they told me I had to use a Pay Pal account to order. I do not have a Pay Pal account but did try to use the 'pay with Credit Card' function. The only option there is to buy the whole Radio kit with Raduino but no Raudino upgrade option. That did not work. I do not want to open a Pay Pal account just to upgrade. I did not need it to buy my original BITX 40 kit.

So I guess I will have to go with QRP Labs DDS. Disappointed!

A PayPal account is free, and rather easy to set up, and if you buy any parts on ebay, you'll need/want one. Highly recommended for online commerce.

I think you will find that even when you ordered your BITX using your credit card, you actually were using it through Paypal, Bill. That is certainly the way eBay credit card purchases work these days. As already advised, setting up a Paypal account is relatively painless and as far as any web transaction goes, relatively secure and it comes with a refund protection if things do go awry.

The actual address is hfsignals@.... This is a paypal vendor's address. The simplest and safest way to get to it is to use the paypal function.
I use paypal with one credit card. All payments are through that lone credit card, and that is the only thing at risk. Yes, there is advertising pressure to use the system for all on-line banking...but I don't do that. I have worked with computers for most of my 70 odd years, and I don't trust them as far as I can throw them.
So don't use paypal for banking IMHO, but it is about the only sane way to engage in on-line international commerce these days.

If you purchased a kit before the Radiuno, you can purchase the DDS unit separately. That offer is about to end. Send an e-mail to the hfsignals@... address with the issue number of your board. (It is written in ink along the edge). They will send you an e-mail authorizing payment to their paypal account at that address. Follow the instructions in the e-mail. Simply that; that's all.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions about Pay Pal. Sorry to raise a fuss about that issue. But, I am old school and don't want to open an account with Pay Pal.

You can buy the BITX 40 without joining Pay Pal account. But it appears not the Raduino by itself. As I mentioned, I did buy the QRP Labs DDS so I will go with that.? I tried without using a Pay Pal account but with the 'use credit card' option. The only choice there seems to be to order the whole BITX 40 kit including Raduino. True, I am a Dinosaur!
