Antuino DOA

Daniel Walter All Messages By This Member #69775 #antuino I got an Antuino v2.0 at FDIM last month. I just got around to playing with it. But no joy, it seems DOA. It may work, but the screen backlight does not have voltage. I checked voltage thru the switch with batteries and it reads 9.3v and there are voltages on most of the pins of the display, but none on the display LEDs.? Any one have any ideas? Or am I just SOL? -- Dan, NM3A

David Wilcox #69782 开云体育 If the screen is all “light” or “dark” if may just need adjustment of the control pot. ?There is a small pot (variable resistor) on the back of the screen that I had to adjust to get a better appearing screen..... mine was blacker than I wanted so I adjusted the pot to my liking. Also it looks like Farhan has already entered the picture. ?Great backup of his products. This is the FUN of radio..... not all things work correctly the first time but learning what can be done to improve something is a learning experience and these internet groups are a God send.....? Daniel Walter All Messages By This Member #69783 Ashhar, Thanks for quick response.? Powering up via battery. Getting 9V past switch. ..... Ahh- Found the problem. Bad solder joint on external power connector not allowing negative (ground) lead to connect to board from battery. Corrected solder issue (and reflowed a couple of other joints that looked suspect) and voila! all is well.? Thanks. -- Dan, NM3A

That blog post from n2htt just changed my mind; I'm now in the "can't wait until the're available for purchase" camp.
David Wilcox #69813 开云体育 If you are like me, the FG-01A is the “berries” for antenna tuning and SWR. ?The Antuino has other uses that may be useful for the price. ?Mine is flakey in its operation so more trouble shooting or waiting to see someone else with a solution.
