N6DT AGC and S-meter

greetings to group - as someone who knows very little about this cool stuff (but loves projects), i need help to understand how to connect the s-meter voltage output to pin A7 of the raduino.? is there some circuit such as the lm op amp which is required or can i just connect the s-meter pad output directly to pin A7?? the great AGC circuit is working fine on my ubitx version 4, and the measured voltages from the s-meter take-off reach almost to 1 volt on very strong signals.? need help or direction !? Rick WA2TDL.??
 

Hey Rick!, Are you using the Kit-Projects AGC? If you are you can directly wire the S-Meter pad to the A7 pin. It's nice to hear that its working as expected for you :)

thanks, Tim!!? yes using the kit-projects AGC.? tried the direct connection but it did not work. using the correct version of the ubitx firmware, and the 2.4 tft for the nextion.? not sure why it is not working.? there are definitely the correct voltages coming from the s-meter take-off.? puzzled here.? Have you by any chance set the S-meter values in the memory manager utility? If I remember correctly the defaults are set to zero.

Seem to remember I had a similar issue with the S meter. I think ?it was the firmare I chose ?- I¡¯d mistakenly used the firmware with the ¡°_S¡± in the filename.?

Use a lm385 or whatever the part number is. Voltage op amp. I use the same AGC and could not use it for A7.?

Go to KD8CEC site to get the info on build.?


I¡¯m blown away by his new projects. Swr meter, new software that will do FT8 and other modes. Oh my ?.?

The firmware with the "S" is the right version to use with the intention of wiring to A7 for a meter, no?? That's kind of the point of the designation that way.?

thanks for all the input, guys!!! ? i love this group! ?guess i may have to try the lm385 op amp. tried using lots of different values in the memory manager for the s-meter adjustment. ?i did use the "S" firmware, assuming that the "S" referred to the s-meter addition. ?will try the other firmware, only takes a few minutes to do. ?will report on the results. thanks again! solved!!? thanks to all.? it turns out that the NX_S firmware file is not the correct one as i had assumed.? with some tweaking on the memory manager, it is working great with the N6DT KIt-projects agc board......the s-meter pad on that board connects directly to A7.? Rick WA2TDL.

I¡¯m having the exact same problem and have made the same mistake as you (loaded the -s version).?

When you reloaded the correct firmware did you just reload it with xloader?

Never Mind,
was having some problems with x loader, but it worked. S meter working now.
