to use the radio until an amp is built and added, just use an amplified computer speaker. I use one and am satisfied to use just one channel. Has to be a stereo set though or you short out one channel of the rig's amplifier circuit for example if you plug in a mono plug. The computer speaker I use is turned up full volume and all audio control is with the rig's control. Try it to see if it's enough. Others here will no doubt give you a website where you can either buy or build an amp that can be installed inside the radio. There are several replies with good solutions for you. You can also use a set earphones and find that you will have to turn the volume down with those. I have been using "cans" for well over 60 years so I can hear my radio and not "annoy" everybody else in the house. CW is music to only a few of us:) I have also just plugged in the computer external amplifier/speaker sets and those work fine. I can't help you with the uv meter (an S-meter I presume). S-meters are not needed and I have several radios with no S-meter nor AGC. Others here can help you with that. 73, Bill KU8H On 1/19/19 2:11 AM, will.benn@... wrote:

I took a used computer speaker apart and removed the amplifier. Stripped off the switch, volume control, and plug in ports. Mounted it in the case with a couple of standoffs and bolts.Ran the output of the v4 into the input of the amp. I bought the v4 used with an indian case. The volume control was biased with equal 4.7 k resisters The power comes from the main switch of the radio.

Good idea. Those amps are usually pretty small. Most
