BitX Volume Knob 3D Print File

开云体育

I was asked yesterday for STL files for Knobs for Bit X.

This is the volume knob with the small shaft hole.? You could drill it out for 6mm pots?

I printed knobs for my bitx40. The long shafts make the knobs thick. Thought about cutting the shafts down but didn't want to chance damaging the pots.ng the shafts down but don't want to damage?
The tuning knob I have now is offset with a finger dish. I like it a lot.

Michael, I'm a 3D printer noobie and literally just got a monoprice printer this week. I've tried to load your two knobs stl files that you shared into Cura to generate the necessary gcode. The first knob (tuning) comes into Cura as a speck with zero minutes of run time. The volume knob comes in with an error message saying that it was resized and it also has zero minutes of run time. I've downloaded a stl file from another source and it comes in correctly and shows what I guess is a normal runtime of 1 hour and 58 minutes.?

Your knobs where going to be my first attempt to print something because they seemed small and useful for one of my BITX radio! :-))

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Roy

Those Knobs were designed for the FemptoBit 2000 GHz Radio!? Made for Flea Hams!

It is all in scaling, Cura may think the units are MM?.? In inches the tuning knob is 1.2".? The volume is 0.625".? So if you don't see those sizes your software is set up wrong.? Some programs automatically scale.? Others printed the knobs and had the same problem.? They fixed it in Cura with settings.? I use Simplify3D, so I can't help with Cura.? I am sure someone on this list uses Cura?

Hit YouTube also?

Keep going, I have 3? 3D printers and it is a Hit and Miss every print.??? Wait until you find yourself getting up in the middle of the night to check how your part is going!

In Cura one of the buttons on the left side when viewing the knob will be for scaling. It's been a while but as I recall there are tool tips for the buttons. It'll pop up a dialog which is self explanitory.

Here are my stl files.
Both printed? with 3 layers of wall thickness 20% infill. I use .3mm layer height.

They should be a direct fit without scaling.

I generally use Repetier Host and choose Sli3er as the slicer.

It depends on his Cura software setup.? I don't have to scale using Simplify3D.

The stl files are created by Solidworks and are standard.

There are lots of YouTube Videos on Cura for him to watch.

I use 40% and ABS at 225D with bed at 110D.

Every one has to adjust things to get satisfying results.

3D printing is sometimes really "iffy"!

Thanks for the files.? I will try them.

Mike

Your Tuning Knob?
Really Modern looking.
Don't see set screw hole?

Simplify3D loaded it fine.

They fit snug on the bitx40 shafts with my printer settings. If it comes out too tight reduce the filament, or too loose then increase the filament feed rate.?

Thanks for all the suggestions and info, guys. This is getting complicated quickly!

Thanks,
