Re: Toroid inductor in sBitx DE upgrade kit
The PA bias inductors were 15 turns on T30-6 toroids from micrometals. - f On Sat, Jun 10, 2023 at 6:33?AM Evan Hand <elhandjr@...> wrote:

Re: Toroid inductor in sBitx DE upgrade kit
Shirley, which upgrade kit are you referring to? DE upgrade #1 was a power supply fix for the 5V to the Raspberry Pi an upgrade #2 was for a solid state T/R switch. See my photo of the board. I don¡¯t see any toroids of any sort or any color. I was referring to the factory soldered yellow toroids on the main board of the DE that are part of the low pass filter section. Where are your toroids supposed to go?

Re: sBitx DE (and also V2) notes and hints
Evan, check that. It's not a relay.? It happens (losing receive signal after FT8 transmission, and restoring received signals by switching bands and then switching back to the original FT8 transmission band) on FT8 transmission on 15M and then switching to 10M and then back to 15M. Those bands use the same LPF relay! So what else determines whether the receive path is interrupted and restored? Seems to me it must be with the solid start T/R switch of upgrade #2. How might I further track down the problem?

Re: sBitx DE (and also V2) notes and hints
Evan, it seems the lost signal on receive after a FT8 transmission is from a stuck LPF relay for 20 meters. When I switch to another band using another LPF relay and then switch back to 20M (hearing the relays clicking) I get the proper signals on receive on 20M back again. I wonder whether this problem is frequent and whether it was part of the reason to change to MOSFETs for LPF switching in the sBitx V2. Short of replacing the relay, do you think there¡¯s a good way to solve this problem?

I am a DE user and run both FT8 (via WSJT-X) and JS8Call. Let me know if you want my configuration settings.

Re: swr bridge boards
I found similar units for less on AliExpress and eBay. Not at my desk right now so do not have the links.? One note: you can use the adjustable resistors to change the voltage level with a 27kOhm resistor across the input to the ATtiny85. ?The bridges I ordered were made to connect to an analog meter and used to adjust the current. Mid range gave me 2.8volts with 40watts from the switch ?

Hi Koy, If the above checks OK, verify the wiring.? One other point, the stock regulator on the Raduino board can only supply a 3.5¡±. Nextion display. ?If you have a larger than 3.5¡± display the regulator could be dropping out with the power required to change frequencies.?
