Re: Yeah! No!
Thank you Arv.
Your point illustrates mine perfectly: Inductor and transformer information MUST be in a small list in the schematic. If not, the result will be endless frustration and waste of

Re: Yeah! No!
The L1, L2 and L3 have 40 turns on T30-6, yellow core.

There are many versions of BITX now available, some by Farhan, and some by
others.
Each design has its own set of inductors that are mostly specific to that
particular design.
This makes

Re: Yeah! No!
According to http://toroids.info/T37-6.php one needs 44.7 i.e. 45 turns to
get 6uH (as stated earlier in the thread).
As Arv is a BITX resource person mentioned by Farhan himself on the
hfsigs-page,

Re: Yeah! No!
I see in the schematic for the BPF that L2 is 6uH. Since it is a tuned
circuit one can guess that it is type 6 material and calculate turns.
This is IMO more difficult for the 37(?) material

Re: Yeah! No!
Sorry for your L2. I am sure you will be helped.
I would like to call on Farhan to give a list of ALL transformers/inductors
based on FT- and T- type toroids, so that everybody can make / replace

Re: FLL VFO into DDS input on BITX40 V3
yes. Also, once the onboard vfo is at nominal stability, we can add a varicap and couple to ik3oil FLL too.

Re: Yeah! No!
For anyone who has a Fry's nearby, I was in there yesterday to pick up some BNC connectors, and I noticed that they have small $5 spools of various magnet wire and single ferrite and powdered iron

He did reply and will be sending a replacement. I just don't think I have

Ken,
write to hfsignals@..., hopefully they will ship you a replacement.
winding 40 turns is quite painful. i have done it a hundred times!

FLL VFO into DDS input on BITX40 V3
Can a IK3OIL FLL VFO be used on the DDS input on the BITX40 V3 SMD board ? If it can, do I just disconnect the coil and cap from the BITX40 ?

Re: Yeah! No!
Ken,
if it has simply snapped in two or even a couple of pieces and not crumbled
to dust, you can use superglue to put it back together.
At least until you get a new one

another $10 to the investment. Hopefully that's the last part that will
need to be replaced. I wired it up to test anyway,

Re: Yeah! No!
L2 is 6uh, which would be 25 turns (25 inches) on a T37-6 core.
