Re: Raduino logic levels
Without a thorough analysis and a lot of spare time, best bet might be to give Lady Ada $4 for an i2c level converter.

Here is a link to one that can be had on Amazon for about $6 + shipping. The really important piece is the controller HD44780.
You might be able to find one cheaper ¨Cjust make sure it has the same

Two days ago I wrote a CAT communication program for uBITX.?
It was tested through Ham Radio Deluxe and I posted that information through this group.
Perhaps the CAT communication test seems to have

You beat me to this answer. A relatively high and nonlinear (vs frequency) gate capacitance is characteristic of these big die motor control Mosfets. If you don't like that, find a real RF

Ummm....maybe I confused the issue.
The gate can be at RF ground, and at +(adjustable) bias voltage, while the souce is at input RF and grounded DC (through a coil?)
Or the gate can be at both dc

Re: #Bitx40 Firmware update issues

Hello Gordon,
I will look into where I can find firmware V1.24 and give that a try.
I know the Bitx40 is a SSB transceiver, I just find it easy to operate CW
and have more QSO's than on SSB.
Guess,

As Gordon points out, the grounded gate configuration applies to
the exciter, not to the final...a power MOSFET must have a gate voltage.
I wonder, since the gate capacitance is ca 180pF in the

Re: ant tunner
The ZM-2 should work well for a uBitx at 12v.
But if you feed the IRF510's 24v, you can get way more than 10W.

but the Grid or gate could be at ground for RF but not for DC bias. That

A "grounded gate" of what, Marco?
Not of the IRF510 or any other MOSFET.
The current through the device is determined by the gate voltage.
with a gate at 0v, the current through the device is
