Re: Blew the irf510's up, substituted irfp260's in there place... #ubitx-help

Greg:

If you are aware of what happened, just get new deices and install them.
You probably will need to redo the alignment as IRF510s are notoriously
variable. You CAN let the adjustments alone, but you will never be sure
of their real value. If you have ever changed them from the factory settings,
you must re-do the adjustments.

The simplest way is to set RV1, RV2, and RV3 to zero, using a DVM and RF
probe. Then, install the new devices. Then check what the RCVR current draw is
with the DVM. It should be somewhere around 100 ma. But it doesn't matter
much what it is as long as RCV is working. Check the antenna SWR to make
sure it is ok (below 2.0:1) Connect the PA drain voltage -- there should be little or
no change in current draw. Make sure the antenna is connected. While in transmit, SLOWLY
increase RV2 until there is an additional current draw of about 100 ma. SLOWLY
increase RV3 until there is an additional current draw of 100 ma. The RX draw
should be about the same; the idle TX draw is an additional 200 ma. or so.

Then, in TX, speak into the mike with a long "aaahh" while SLOWLY increasing RV1.
The current drain should increase another ampere or so. That should be close
to your final adjustment. You can tweek RV1 a bit until actual distortion occurs;
if that happens back off RV1 a hair until things are clear. (having a QSO to check
your audio helps a lot).

And there you are. You can check the voltage (carefully!) on the gates in TX.
They both should be around 3v, and should match fairly well if the devices you
installed were from the same place and time of manufacture. After that, let
well enough alone.

Incidentally, the same procedure applies for almost any MOSFETS installed as
PA finals.

Hope this helps.

Re: uBitx low signals on the speaker

bingo !!!!!!!
Really the problem was it is in vfo CLK # 2
I inserted the rf generator at approximately 52Mhz and now we have the normal operation of ubitx.
Probably some defect in SI5351.
Lucky I have another raduino board.
I leave here my contribution to who in the future find this same defect, and that apparently would be the TDA2822 and was not.

These might be better directed to a special email receptacle where somebody compiles them and prints on the webpage the rough progression of deliveries. ?Then those who are quite interested in that information could simply click the webpage and discover how things are proceeding.

[email protected] Notification

Hello,

This email message is a notification to let you know that a file has been uploaded to the Files area of the [email protected] group.

File: ubitx_I2C2L_V3_00R.zip

Uploaded By: Jim Sheldon

Description:
W0EB/W2CTX Latest I2C Firmware for the uBITX My apologies for so many notifications on "uploaded files" today, but after many computer problems earlier - the original files I had uploaded needed a few last minute bugs cleaned out. We believe that has been taken care of now and the old files were deleted to allow for these new ones to take their place. This firmware ONLY runs on an I2C enabled (modified) Raduino Card or on our RadI2Cino card. This version is for TWO line by 16 character displays with the I2C backpack installed. It has a fully functioning CAT system, Interrupt driven CW routines with Iambic A and B modes, Dot and Dash paddles are swappable in the software and it has a completely re-written Alignment routine which is much easier to use and if you follow the instruction manual's appendix on alignment can be very accurate. For those using Xloader, the compiled HEX file has been included for ease of upload.

You can access this file at the URL:

The ordering, shipping, and delivery dates are used to optimize product delivery
procedures.? Need for this may decrease once backlog situation is resolved but
there will probably still be some interest because it tells purchasers what to expect
in shipping delays and which carrier might be the best to choose when you order
a BITX.

It was done to gauge the delays getting the orders out. They were pretty back logged and people were trying to calculate the delays. It has been picking up speed where they are catching up with their back log. I’m sure it will simmer down soon.?

By my estimate there could be as many as 1000 constructors still waiting to receive their uBITx.? So yes!? Once HF Signals have caught up with the backlog these messages probably will not be as useful.

I update the info on shipping on uBITx.net based on these shipping confirmations.? HF Signals is catching up fast and probably will have cleared the backlog within 2-3 weeks, which is great news for those waiting.

We know from a comment from Ashhar Farhan that he has received around 4000 orders ...
