Re: JackAl board pricing
It might be fun to play ahead of the JackAL board's arrival. ?PJRC has the Teensy and Audio Bd. but for compatibility where is suggested to find/buy the 5" TFT touch screen? Pete WK8S

Re: RFI from uBitx TX after AGC and other mods installed
Hi all: I remembered that the pop fix split TX/RX power so I moved the lead from R52 to the pop fix board RX pad. This eliminated the loud and clear audio on transmit leaving only a much lower muffled

Re: Neat power supply!
Most AT and ATX style computer power supplies are shielded by the metal case. They do lack shielding in the form of bypass capacitors on the DC leads leaving the case. This can be fixed by installing

Re: uBitxr4 audio distortion fix
You can also fix this by adding a bias resistor from the base of the PNP transistor to ground and feeding the audio into the midpoint of the diodes with an isolating capacitor. Using Q71 as a current

Re: Neat power supply!
I heard that some switching power supply when they fail they may make extensive damage because of leaks of AC, at least this what I was told. In some appliances that had noisy switching power

Re: RFI from uBitx TX after AGC and other mods installed
Hi Pat: I have tried to duplicate your clever fix of picking off receive-only?12v from R52 without success. On my radio with the pop fix kit installed 12V is active on RX and TX. 73, Alan

Re: uBitxr4 audio distortion fix
Allison, This circuit does the same thing I mention, just in a different manner. This circuit uses feedback to drive the collector of TR1 to the proper voltage. My method eliminates the need for the

Re: Known issues on uBITX r4 #ubitx
Raj, Thanks for ur reply. I understand that VFO shaft is 6mm but the volume shaft is 4mm. I will try to find again a knob for 4mm shaft and also the 6mm pot and switch, just in case. Thank you for ur

Re: Known issues on uBITX r4 #ubitx
Hiro, The Volume control is 4mm with switch. So if you are at Akhiabara tomorrow pick up a 10KA pot with switch (if required) of 6mm type. Raj

Re: Noise Burst #bitx40
If you set semiQSK to ON (in the SETTINGS menu, CW params), then the radio will automatically switch to CW mode as soon as the CW key (or tune button) is pressed. To return to SSB mode, just press the

Re: Known issues on uBITX r4 #ubitx
I got a 12V 5A regulated power supply with ferrite core for noise filter, plus I got 10 pieces of extra ferrite core, just in case. I also got some knobs for VFO and volume which shafts are 6mm. Is it

Ordered it and will try. I needed a variable PS for some other purpose. For bitx I use one of the many bench power supplies in my collection. Earlier I modded a laptop charger to make it variable but

Looks good, but switch mode supplies can cause a lot of RF interference. Have you tried it? Cheers -- John VK6JAH

I had suggested regulating the voltage, but didn't consider that pot. I agree with the above.

Re: Running on a Jump Box
Trying to make it simple. You regulate the voltage. Let the device draw how ever many amps it needs or wants. In the case of the ubitx it will be around 2 to 3 amps depending on the power it is

Re: uBitxr4 audio distortion fix
I tried a mod like this and the gain dropped so I split the feedback resistor by 2 and bypassed to ground with a 10uF at the center. Sounds great now.
