Re: Nano Problem????
Yes I remember this. Look carefully to see if you may have misinstalled the connectot. Mine had an extra plastic only pin, and is easy to misalign. Or missed solder somewhere. Curt

Nano Problem????
I fired up my ubitx V4 for the first time. When you turn the encoder, the frequency only changes by .050 the goes right back. I removed the encoder and used a jumper wire to try to simulate a encoder.

Re: Full throttle SSB distortion on 15 and 10m
I agree, 10W on 40 should be reference of modulation level. I have not got my hands on a v5 and when I do I will report. Raj

Re: Full throttle SSB distortion on 15 and 10m
Getting 15W on 40 is pushing for excess... should be about 10. And 2W is about all you get on 15 and 10 with out amp mods.? Likely less. More audio more power but there is a point of distortion as

Re: Low SSB output
Harvey The filter is rather narrow and if you off a little it will reduce signal.? So 33mhz and 12 mhz are not? fine enough numbers to call if they are correct. The "12mhz" should be more like

Full throttle SSB distortion on 15 and 10m
I have minimal mods (except for the Axicom I did) on my ver. 3 ubitx (still with the original firmware). The biggest addon is a SL6270C Plessey Vogad compressor between the dynamic mic and the mic

Re: Low SSB output
I will try removing the output stage voltage and see what happens. When I measured the frequency into the 45MHz filter I see 21MHz on my counter. To check if my counter is working properly, I measured

Re: 2nd run of the spectrum test on the V5 #ubitx
Wow, test equipment is everywhere. a single tone will get us started. Of course I knew the last mixer is biased away for cw, but easy to forget. In our group build we line them up to test both cw and

Re: 2nd run of the spectrum test on the V5 #ubitx
you can generate a tone at 1 khz from here: http://www.onlinetonegenerator.com Once you connect your pc to ubitx, measure the audio at mic input to be 50 mv peak(100 mv peak to peak). Then you can

Harvey, Disconnect the power wire to the PA, i.e. center wire on power plug and then make measurements. I suspect that 400mV is the L5 picking up PA signal. The level at L1 which is input to PA I

Re: How many schematics exist for uBITX #bitx40help
Jon V3 has the TDA audio amp. V4 has a discrete transistor audio amp. New V5 has a LM386 audio amp, and some new refinements including a different 2nd IF. All factory versions are supplied with IRF510

Jon you don¡¯t say when you received your uBITX. If our board has the discrete transistor audio amplifier then yours is a version 4 and the 2018 schematic is correct. There was a long thread about
