Re: No transmit power after new firmware update

what if I made a clone or copy of my friends sd card because he bought one a couple weeks ago he’s still got the original sd card image from the manufacturers if I did that will my radio work?

Re: No transmit power after new firmware update

I see, then the previously working condition is incomprehensible to me.
In this case, recovery lasts a little longer, but not impossible.

The /sbitx /data folder has the hw_settings.ini file.
If you have V3 (black cover) you must use the hw_settings_v3.ini file.
The device has the difference between the production standard deviation of the parts.
The above file contains a repair of these differences.
To get the best possible operation from the device can find scale = numbers per lane.
These are used by the device. After the low pass filter (LPF), a power/swr meter is built.
This must work well as this also affects the right operation.
(For me, one of the diodes led in both directions until I improved it, it worked correctly).

There is a description for the correct setting on sbitx.net, find this.
The bottom line is that at Dummy Load load, you need to change the scale= data on lane in small steps.
After the modification, you need to restart the device so that the (silly computer) knows what you want to do.
Note every step of the changes, and when you can no longer make a significant change, you have reached the limit of the device's knowledge.
For the changes, it is recommended to increase 20%, ie multiply the found value by 1.2 and then restart and measure according to the description.

Mark,
congrats on the nice DX.
I have a lot of similar experiences.
Yes, when you have to order, you try to get the cheaper version so as not to strain the family budget.
I was the same way, but I managed to change it before completing the order and received a boxed version.
However, I am a 'metal worker', i.e. I like to do different things with metals. But my time is needed for other things now, so I changed it.
Ask the manufacturer via support, they may be able to help you.

Re: No transmit power after new firmware update

The sd card that came with my device got messed up and wiped out my sbit program when I was in the pi terminal so.?

Re: No transmit power after new firmware update

If you have installed a new image, in this case the old data must be copied to this new one.
You have purchased the device, the SD card contains numbers corresponding to the parameters of the device in the file hw_settings.ini corresponding to the characteristics of the device.
These are important because they determine the operation.
So, if you don't copy them into the right folder, the device won't work as before.
I wrote in my previous answer (#111811) that you should get a new SD card and copy the image file to it.
If this happened, the necessary data must be copied from the old SD card (which you received with the device) to the new SD image.

You can be angry that no one told you this here.
Because almost everyone here thinks that here someone will describe what needs to be done in a personalized way for everyone.
It's not like this. If you haven't read descriptions before and don't have computer knowledge, you won't understand what needs to be done.

Preparation for copying:
You can see the contents of the SD card with the File Manager. If you start it, look for /Home/pi/sbitx folder. Here, copy the previous entire folder to a USB stick and note next to it that this is sbitx_origin. You will copy the useful content from this USB stick to the new image in the appropriate folder. Save this, you may need it later.
What to copy:
/Home/pi/sbitx/data folder
/Home/pi/sbitx/web folder (only if your own data is included in the .mc (macro) files.

So many regrets.... #sBitx #sBITX_v3

Hi BITXers

I have been having fun with my Sbitx - my first QSO from central UK was VK3TZT on 30M (10,500 miles as the RF flies) using just a wire.

I bought the constructed board - which arrived with a little damage to the RTC module which I had to repair.

As a dabbler, I have many Raspberri Pis here, so one of those has been utilised with the fine 64 bit image - all works well.

My regret? I really cant find a way to box this in a satisfactory way (I am no metal worker) and really wonder why I cant buy the "official" case from HF Signals without purchasing the whole kit.

Maybe I just buy a fully assembled unit now I know I'm going to get the use out of it?

Re: No transmit power after new firmware update

For the avoidance of doubt, I will state that this forum exists to help like-minded people.
In this case, regarding the uBitx... sBitx device.
So I am not Support, where information about the device's manufacture is given.
I am a radio operator and this radio works well.
That's why I'm asking something that can lead to a solution.
Let's wait and see what other people think.

Dude, I'm just saying you have no idea what I'm talking about. You bought a device.
For that, they gave me a personal microphone as an accessory.

My question is, at what microphone gain does the device work with this own microphone.
Because you write that it worked before.
If it worked, it must have worked because you couldn't even install USB Audio.
So I ask again what number you had to set the microphone gain to before the software update worked well.

Re: No transmit power after new firmware update

Drive Level- 100?
Mic Level- 100?

When I key up the radio to transmit the power display shows around 1 & swr don’t move.?

No transmit power after new firmware update

Thought I would just make a new thread for topic, so I’m recently getting no transmit power on LSB & USB on the radio the power display will show like 1 or two 2 watts & the swr will show nothing. I bought my sbit brand new couple weeks ago from giga parts and it worked fine no issues until I changed over to the firmware update. I did not make no back up of my original sd card because the software crashed on me a couple days ago when I was In the terminal tying to do cd $home commands. Can someone help me please ?

Re: Bluetooth Headset For Sbitx V3

Update to my last post technically I can’t use my radio from the new software upgrade because It’s not showing my power or swr?

Re: Confirming power output on v3

did you get the power & swr confirmed on the radio after the new software update? Because I’m having the same issue where my power and swr is not working?

Re: Bluetooth Headset For Sbitx V3

Yes the radio Is In LSB OR USB when transmitting but the radio Is not showing the power output or the swr like It did before I changed over to the software? When I originally bought this radio It came with software out of the manufacturer and was working fine. As far as the Bluetooth headset you asked about It’s called Opencom by shokz It’s a Bluetooth headset for my cell phone.

Bill, Where can I read more about this PA you've designed? I see random posts noting your work, but nothing I can really dig into.
Thanks.
