Re: Ver3 to CEC

Rajesh,

First, verify that all of the boards are plugged into the correct pins in the connectors.??
NOTE: If you replaced the Nano, then did you get one without the headers soldered onto the Nano, and then soldered the headers such that the reset button is between the Nano and the Raduino boards when the Nano is inserted into the Raduino.? The Nano used in the Raduion must have the header pins on the "wrong" side of the Nano when compared to a Nano that is supplied with the headers already solder to the Nano board.

Next, let's eliminate the hardware as an issue.?
- Remove the Nano from the Raduino board.?
- Plug the Raduino board back into the mainboard (if you took it out to pull the Nano)
- Then power on the rig.?

The stock display should light up with grey boxes across the top row.? If the display lights, you may deed to adjust P2 to get the boxes displayed.? If the display does not light, then check the 5 volts on the output of the regulator on the Raduino board.? It should read 5volts.? If not, then try to isolate where the 5volts is shorted, or if the regulator has failed.

On my v4 board, the Display connector reads 5 volts on pin 2, .85 volts on pin 3 and 5 volts on pin 15 without the Nano.

You can also test the stock display by supplying +5volts to pins 2, 3, and 15 of the display connector.? Pin 1 and 16 are ground or negative. You should see the backlight LED light up, and have grey boxes across the display.

Once that testing has been done, and assuming that there were no problems, or you found and correct the problem, now plug the Nano back into the Raduino board.? This time we will test the Raduion unplugged from the mainboard.? This can be done with a 5volt USB supply, or when connected to the USB port of your computer.? The onboard regulators of the Nano are enough to power the Raduino and display.

I would highly recommend that you use Xloader and the "UBITX_CEC_V1.200_16P.hex" file to load into the Nano.? That way we would know that there is not a configuration issue with the compiled program.? Here is the Xloader download page:

Above are my suggestions.? Please do the research and verify it for yourself.? All of the schematics are on the HFSignals.com pages:

Rajesh, did youbuse nextion or 16*2 lcd ?

?Eitherway you have to configure it in ubitx.h file before really uplading. I assume you might have done it.? However try to check . All the best.?

I have a problem with the original bitx20 version #bitx20help #bitx20

i built the bitx20?original version in 2012 but it functioned very badly
I built it clean with a PCB board (not the ugly style)

But the reception was rather deaf. except from unwanted beep tones. I suspect unwanted mixing products.
transmitting did not function
I made some modifications based on version 3?and i used a computer controlled vfo
the noise is louder and the beep signals are still there
does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem

The creator of the BitX series of radios explained that it is a radio for hackers. What other HF radio is out there for the same price. I have been searching. ;-)

The alternative is to use Xloader (free software) and load the .hex file from the GitHub repository:

Download the repository to a zip file, and then extract the uBITXV234 folder and then use the correct hex file in the extracted folder.? You will need to set the baud rate to 38400.

Re: Last effort before it is scrapped.....

?I have a v6. I expect you are tuning to the correct frequency, but the local isn¡¯t dead on.
It won¡¯t be. The closet I got was .020 but it worse on other bands. I set it on 40m and deal with it everywhere else. With a tuning step of 50 you¡¯re kinda stuck in between.
Ill simply did it like this: Find an ongoing QSO ON 40m. Set BFO with the online aid on a nearby clear frequency. Exit and go back and set the frequency where it should be not matter what it sounds like. Now go set the local oscillator so that ongoing QSO sounds right.?
Even with this you may still have to tune down 50 to 300 to get it zero beat on other frequencies.

Yes, that's exactly what I would like to do, if it's possible, it's just for fun, because already it works very well. We have to find a new challenge.

Re: UBITX use with 144 MHz transverter

Good effort.
?I an not a coding personat all
I suppose that we? can do this way. before the line which displays the frequency add a clause, using a? spare pin..
?if the pin is high
? add a fixed value to the display value and then display. otherwise normal
perhaps the length of the characters on display line may have to be increased.
I wonder whether it is possible that this check can be restricted to only 10m and not every band.

Re: Delivery Report

I sent something from Kentucky to Michigan by USPS on a Thursday/Friday and was promised it would arrive the following Tuesday. Then the USPS tracking tool advised that because of the Corinavirus confusion, it would be delayed. It arrived the following Friday/Saturday. All things considered, delivery times may be bad but not unreasonable.

My uncle was a USPS mail sorter on a train between Knoxville and Cincinnati for many years. He once commented: "I don't know why people complain about the mail, where else in the world can you get a letter delivered for a penny a day?" Then he laughed.

Changing antennas making it perform OK may indicate that you had high SWR on the other antenna/s. The RF could have caused feedback and received distortion. You may want to recheck the SWR on the other antenna/s.
