Re: Reverse polarity protection on the sBitx? #sBitx #sBITX_v3

I've been playing around with a PCB design that uses a mosfet for reverse polarity protection.? Diodes burn a decent amount of power, this mosfet is significantly less.? It also has over volt protection, and esd/transient protection, and fused.? I need to stare at the inside of the box to see if there's a way to work it into the box, but I think that's going to be a bit more involved than just making it a dongle/pig tail design.

PS another diode the other way round feeding a small buzzer
gives an audible alarm if the power is upside down :-) !!!!!

This code will also work on the raspi pico, went to a fast mcu for better perfomance,
?
the virtual machine ie there for develoment.
?

Re: What is bitx23?

so I have 2m and 6m code emulations , I have to add in memory storage , but I figure I would share what I have done. its more basic as mine will be for sota/pota and I dont seen the need for alot.?

Re: Production zBitx #zbitx

Richard,
I just found time to put the circuits together. I am more like a magazine editor than a writer. Plus, my business experience has allowed us to assemble a very low cost radio manufacturing unit. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.
My rant was out of curiosity alone. I am not sure I would want to run a large business. Been there, done that. It is uninteresting and very taxing, at least for me.

Richard,
The comparable radio with the Xeigu is the ubitx. It is completely usable out of the box. We do, offer replacements or refunds for non-working radios. I still think this is a matter of perception.?

It is an odd thing though, the Elecraft KH1 is a CW only radio, selling for 600 USD. Not really, if you add all the essentials, it stacks upto 1000 USD. Yet, they sell about 3000 radios per month. Radioddity sells the Xeigus in even higher numbers.
On the other hand, QRP Labs or HF signals builds open, hackable radios at about 1/5th the price. Yet, they are an acquired taste, to put it mildly.
Some may say that those are complete radios, and these are kits or thst they are not fully functional.
Neither is true, the QMX fully assembled retaila for 220 USD, with the kitchen sink.
The basic function of an sbitx (ssb/cw) is far more stable and superior to the G90. Sure, maybe the FT8 logging doesnt work as expectdd, but the G90 doesnt have it at all!
I guess, this is the nature of open radios and will remain so. Pretty much like Linux.

Does anyone have the pinout/wiring diagram for the "Digital Adapter Board" as sold by
?
Its been a while since I bought the box/boards and now I'm finally getting to them but have lost the paperwork. I tried visiting their site to download it but nothing found. My intention is to add a small USB hub board to the back of the connector (as found on Amazon - 2 for $10) and wire the Radiuno and a CM108 sound interface directly into the box making for a single cable control/audio solution.

I also use the fet method, not as simple as a diode, but voltage drop way lesd
