Re: technical question about filter capacitors
Same here, that is why I only use ATC ceramic capacitors. Very high Q, very low ESR, specifically made for RF applications. Cost more, but you can't beat them.

Re: technical question about filter capacitors
Thank you for that information. I went here and read about capacitor dielectrics https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/technical-articles/x7r-x5r-c0g...-a-concise-guide-to-ceramic-capacitor-types/

Re: technical question about filter capacitors
NP0 or C0G ia what you want. The capacitors should have a good Q. They will otherwise be lossy and the filter won't be sharp. For years I tried building filters with regular disc ceramics. They had

I am at our off-grid cabin for the summer and have brought by uBITX with me.? With the low noise floor and elevation the BITX has really shined.? This afternoon I made a 20M contact to the Slovak

Re: Screen print front panel
Thanks cdt The Emblaser 2 costs about $2500, but you can really do a lot of things with this laser. Especially front panels, signs, etc. The 5-band equalizer I have built with the BA3812L IC. Works

Re: Screen print front panel
Yes, this is possible if you paint the copper surface with black coating in advance. Depending on the thickness of the copper layer, the tracks would have to be lasered in several passes. It also

If you bought them from HobbyPCB, (Jim Veach), you know they are originals. Jim makes one of the best HF amp kits in the world and uses these FET's in them. My HardRock 50 amp is still going strong

NPO capacitors are Class 1 capacitors which are more stable and designed for resonant circuits. You have a better chance of getting a capacitor of this type with a low RF ESR

Does the temp coefficient matter? This isn't a VFO. I just looked it up - X7R is considered relatively temperature stable. I found a graph - the capacitance peaks around 20C, and at 0C and 40C it will
