If it is a "Charging Cable" it may not have the data leads. If it is a data cable it will work for both data and charging. You do have to select the correct Arduino model and the correct boot loader

1) not only are the calibrations transferable, my version uses the same locations to read and store the calibrations, so once you have a working calibration, you shouldn't have to recalibrate at all
