I've watched the video, and noted that ticking increasing in level at low volumes. I venture this is an instability similar to that sometimes present in the Bitx-40, solved by a resistor (1 to 10k)

Googling "USB mini right angle extension cable" returned many hits.? The ones I saw were not panel mount but hot glue makes everything panel mount.

You are hearing the LOOP refresh of the nano controlling the SI chip. What is strange is that you can hear it with the
volume control disconnected.
