Bitx20a FREE to a good home
Hello, I built a Hendricks Bitx20A kit a few years ago.? It actually worked for a bit, had one QSO, but I never got it to work consistently.? Oscillation in the PA, and now I may have added a new

Re: Bitx 40 Hardware Questions
C93, C103, R106 are not stuffed, and are not needed. The board is stuffed with MMBT3904's, not BC849's. ?I doubt swapping the MMBT3904's out would improve anything. Haven't heard many complaints

Hello Paul: Well, yes, I used Si5351, since I am following Farhan's instructions as best I can. Basically, my set corresponds to the idea of Farhan, except in the control, since I am using an Arduino

Re: Mic pre-amp blown?
Been a while since anyone asked about a 20a. Take a look at http://golddredgervideo.com/kc0wox/bitxkitsigtrace/txscope.htm It sounds like you have all you need to intelligently troubleshoot it.

Re: Help with wiring Easy Digi PTT
On mine I used an inverter for RTS so it would work with my IC-706, and then when I went to connect it to my bitx40 (with the EASY-DIGI interface too) it wouldn't key PTT for me, so I used Allard's CW

Do it after the opto? Just an inverter. Amazing, I wonder how they figured out all the simulation stuff at Circuit Lab. Others were built on the SPICE stuff done and released because it was funded by

Re: Help with wiring Easy Digi PTT
Yea, I guess the optocoupler doesn't need a full 5V to close the PTT circuit. I'll try it without R1 and see what happens. This editor is Circuit Lab, which is a *fantastic* editor and simulator, but

Re: Help with wiring Easy Digi PTT
That 1K in the emitter cuts your signal in half?? With Q1 fully on, D1 gets 1/2 of Vcc (5V).? So your output on D1 is less than 2V. I like you schematic editor, what is it? Mike, WA6ISP -- Mike

Ok, got things working! All that was missing was a diode from the Collector.? Here's my final circuit:? PTT toggles on and off from WSJT-X as expected :) Thanks for all the help!
