Re: BitX40 no receive
Hi Sarma,
Yes the contact wetting may indeed help the uV signals in RX mode to pass
through the contacts. Adding just 2 resistors as you suggested could
improve reliability.
But I also suspect that

Yes allard.
?here is the small suggestion.
?the png file has? encircled areas marking the mod.
?As the resistors used are 4K7 each , they won't effect the workg of the rig at 50 ohms impedance,

Re: BitX40 no receive
Yeah I've had the same issue too some time ago.
When I tapped (or pressed) the relay it sometimes came back to life.
I just replaced the relay and never had this issue again.

toroid problem
Hi,
?
My BITX40 arrived in good shape, no damage from DHL apparently, and I am preparing to wire it up. However doing an eye inspection of the main board I found that the wire in the final RF stage

Re: BitX40 no receive
in telecom while using relay contacts for low level of voice signals, they
use a methpood called *Contact wetting *.
they manage 1mA current passing thro the contact while actual signals are
taken

Sarma, I have been asked a lot about the noise issue from laptop power supplies and the BitX40. I cannot tell any difference between using the laptop power supply and a 14v battery. Yes I live in

Re: BitX40 no receive
1 more possibility is the tx rx relays. Some people have reported relay failure. This may explain why it worked for a while then went deaf again. On RX you should be able to bypass the relay and if

My 5 watts worked KC9WPH, VE3RRD, KG0BK, I came back later and the band closed up on me.

Re: Accident, Did I damage my Raduino
Hi Justin,
I had the same problem.
The software wouldn't read the Nano board and said not responding. So I
went ahead and bought a new Arduino Nano board. Then I downloaded the
software for the 1.21

I started out on my "big rig" but had a good
signal from Robert VE4RBH in Winnipeg. I started
out running 5W, but did turn it up to 100W at the
end. Then I changed over to the BITX and had my

Re: Cw - another quirk
For the BitX, if you¡¯re just connecting a paddle, I wouldn¡¯t bother. You¡¯re just shorting a high impedance GPIO pin to ground, very safe to do.
If you¡¯re connecting it to any other device

Re: Cw - another quirk
A cap on a GPIO pin will cause a rising/falling edge curve instead of a sharp change. It just means it¡¯ll register the button press, or encoder wheel rotation, 2PiRC seconds later. 2Pi * 20k *

Who are you talking to over there? You need to talk to the guy that drives the van around. Years ago it was Dee, but I'm sure he's retired by now.

Worked W0OIC Ed in IA, WI1B Ken in MA, W0PWE Jerry in IA and WA9DOH Larry in IL. Heard a couple more that I couldn't quite copy.
Sounded like a OHR (over the horizon radar) kept popping up on 7277,
