Re: Adding zener to protect mosfets
Farhan, Gordon;
I have back-to-back Zeners from the final FET Gates to Ground on my DE. (No series resistors) Before installing them I tested how well they would clamp at RF frequencies, due to

Re: Adding zener to protect mosfets
It needs more experimentation, it is a simple and interesting experiment to
carry out.
This lore of zener is very prevalent among hams.

Re: Adding zener to protect mosfets
Surprising. Is that because of the capacitance of the diode? What happens if you reduce the series resistance?

Adding zener to protect mosfets
Gordon,
This is in response to your idea of adding zeners to protect the gates. It
doesn't work.
I added a zener 9v diode and 1k resistor (in series). I was expecting this
to clip between 9v and

Re: Raspberry Pi in sBITX V2
It is working a LOT better. So there is some weird interaction between Bookworm 64 bit and my USB3 NVMe setup, one that did not show itself on Buster 32 bit. I can't explain it. The important thing

Re: Raspberry Pi in sBITX V2
I agree, but for that to work, `/dev/gpiomem` needs to be in the `gpio` group.
In my example above, I show it was not, till I added it back:
```
pi@sbitx:~/sbitx$ ls -l /dev/gpiomem
crw------- 1
Re: Raspberry Pi in sBITX V2
I think that gpio access is granted to all users in the 'gpio' group.
When I run 'id pi' on my sbitx which displays all the groups for the pi user I get:
This confirms my 'pi' user is in the gpio
