Re: Courier Transform

HF Signals has tried many couriers but DHL remains the most reliable (and expensive). All HF Sigs prices includes shipping with DHL. However, strangely?enough, boards sent by ordinary post to Europe frequently make it without duty while DHL always catches the customs' eye.

Yes, when it comes to international shipments, shipping or receiving, they're tough to beat.

ZL1AXG who ran ubitx.net posted he had health issues then decide to pursue other interests.? Last we heard from him /g/BITX20/topic/88966867#92300 he was open to someone else taking over.? It was a good reference when Mike had time to maintain it.?

Doug,

Did you know here is a Wiki page thats part of the forum?

Additionally there is also information there since V3 that may save
you typing.

Re: uBitx v6 Resource Page #ubitxv6

One might want to explore what's here on the BITX IO before fragmenting the ecosystem further.?

/g/BITX20/wiki
/g/BITX20/search?q=Nextion

Much easier to add to a permanent resource than to start from scratch again.

Re: uBitx v6 Resource Page #ubitxv6

Yes, there are minor changes between versions. One has to research here to catch up before breaking out the soldering iron. That's the same as any other project. Two years out of date isn't an issue - how long has HF Signals been shipping that version?

? Where are you finding a 15 pin connector on the BITX? My V6.1 and V6.2 have an 18 pin connector on the board for the Raduino to plug into. The connector for the LCD has 14 pins. As the nextion uses 4 wires and isn't plugged into the uBITX directly...

Here's results of a quick Google search. Top hit is a how-to for installing a Nextion in a V6 uBITX:

The only thing different now relative to a Nextion display is the availability of a new 'advanced' display. Best to look for posts here as a couple of folks here are using that display.

? ? Enjoy the research and learning - it's what these radios are all about!

Thanks, Andy. So many online resources are two years out-of-date. The ubitx.net page hasn't been updated in nearly two years as far as I can tell. For example, the info for upgrading to the Nextion display refers to a 14-pin connector, but the connector on the uBitx I received has 15 pins. Likewise, the pc board layout is different enough from v5 (I think) that some add-ons for v5 don't fit properly. For example, I bought an AGC board, but when I went to install it, I noticed the main board layout is different. I want to pull together all the things that really work with the v6 kit.?

The uBitx v6 Resource Page is already up and running at?. HUGE thanks to?Jim Steeb, K5KKB, for most of the initial content. It's a Google Docs page, on which anyone can add comments or suggest edits and additions. Check it out!

This is a great idea. The uBITX v6 is still a great little bare-bones rig that invites you to hack into it and make t as individual as your fingerprint.?

Doug,

? ?The V6 is similar enough to the 5 that??will still apply. The PCB is different, I think the audio amp was tweaked, and the crystal filter shifted a slight amount to resolve some spurs (I forget - did that happen from 4-5 or 5-6?).

? ?Most of the questions/topics you listed apply through the line from V3 on, so the massive volume of 'corporate' or 'tribal' knowledge here applies directly to our V6s.
