Tried adding filters to the mini-360 buck-converter. It helped a lot. now I can hear the same as on my old ft-77.

I saw that Tim (in /g/BITX20/message/91212) has hade same problem. I asked him if he can use the QR-functions ...
?I mangaed to compile (editing the "txt_maxl", but i cant use QR-ode function. Are there any other "features/values" that I can trim down/decrease, or should I order a enhanged version??

The switching frequency is 330kHz for the mini-360.

I see that there are converters using this chip are listed on Amazon.

Do you know if the frequency is easily adjustable on these boards?

Then I stumbled on this one (see attached pdf) MT3608 that runs at 1.2MHz and will have

3.6/7.2 blips. Tweak it to 1.15 Mhz and this can be avoided.

Many of these switching regulators have a 50 KHz switching frequency. This has images inside the passband of the audio codec.
I arrived at LM338 only after experimenting with various switching systems (including building one from discrete components). These new generation of switchers move the frequency to 500 KHz. That's what makes them useful.

The MINI-360 buck converter is way too noisy to be used as an alternative for LM338. Maybe the noise can be reduced by adding a choke and a capacitor. I haven't tried.

Instead I will use a LM2596 DC-DC conveter, Farhan used it one of the sBitx videos and I have successfully used it in my scratch-built sBitx receiver.

I use this guy.

Or any cheap USB sound dongle. Jamb the sound card into your pc.? Hook the headphone jack of the sound card to the uBITX mic input.? Hook the mic input of the sound card to the uBITX speaker output. Make 100% sure wsjt-x sees the new sound card under wsjt-x audio. Fiddle with level setting.? Use a sperate usb cable to connect the little usb port on the Arduino to your PC.? Configure in WSJT-X.??

Go into FT8 land and enjoy.

From that circuit, connect the reed relay coils 1 - ground and 2 to TX 12V

Connect NO contacts to ground and your amp control line.

you dont need anything else.

have You tested using the "QR code backup"?? I have the same problem as you "... The remaining memory is not enough to run the temporary use of QR code (-261)..." I succeeded complie but I can't use the QR backup function, getting "Error- data file is short". Do You have the same problem ?

You seem to be 1/2 second off, have you tried fixing your system clock? That half second, plus your reaction time, may be too long...

You have to pick the cq and then F1=reply. I did this because the text size is so small that I was frequently selecting the wrong callsign. Hence, the double check.
