Re: uBitx FT8
A v4 with a TDA2822 chip driving the speaker/phones is still a bit confusing. v3 had the TDA2822 v4 had a couple discrete transistors in push-pull. v5 has the LM386 Did you buy directly from

Re: uBitx FT8
Jerry, Sarma, Gordon, Wow, am I confused.? I purchased 12 August 2019 and I thought it was a V5 however after Jerry's response I looked and it is a V4.? My bad for not checking things better.? Live

Are you DC shorting out the output with a transformer in the sound card??

Charles Begun the build process. I have downloaded all the info from github. Would you mind sharing some pics of back of your build. The video shows the front but I need a visual of the back side also

Re: uBitx FT8
Thanks Jerry. If the OP used mono 3.5 male pin in to the 35 stereo sockt, i am sure the short citcuit created between sleeve and one channel.of audio ( on ring) will kill the audio amplifier. Instead

Re: uBitx FT8
I'd guess your USB soundcard cabling is somehow (almost) shorting out the audio from that 2822 chip. Look for a short. Perhaps add an 8 or 10 ohm resistor in series with the TDA2822 to protect it from

Re: bitx v6 is here
I managed to download the v6 code from github.com/afarhan a couple days ago. Today I no longer see the v6 code I assume it has been removed while a bug or two gets fixed, and a new version will be

Re: Raduino - what do I need to update (and learn to update) it?
The original Arduino Nano has an FTDI FT232 chip on it for translating USB communications from you computer into UART TX and RX signals that the ATMEGA328P processor can understand.

Re: uBitx FT8
Version 5 used lm386. It is expected to withstand 12v. If you are ging much higher, pl reduce to 12v.

uBitx FT8
Good Morning, I have a quick question on FT8 with uBitx V5 using USB soundcard (7.1 Channel).? Even with the volume of uBitx set very low the 2822 audio amp gets very hot and if volume set over 1/4

Re: Raduino - what do I need to update (and learn to update) it?
Jack's right on that one - all the NANO clones I've gotten off Amazon lately need the "old bootloader" option to get a good upload after compile. Jim - W0EB

Re: Raduino - what do I need to update (and learn to update) it?
Two things about clones. Many use the CH340 driver instead of the "true" Arduino driver. Second, even with the CH340 driver installed for the Nano, sometimes an Upload hangs the system. If that

Re: Brand new uBiTX v5.0 quality issue ?
Diego before powering up your board measure the trimmer resistors. From the underside of the board measure both trimmers with your ohm meter and compare them. They should measure about the same to

Thank you for infos and photo Gerry! The solder are okay. I will follow the guide to verify the functioning of the trimmers. Cheers, Diego

Re: Brand new uBiTX v5.0 quality issue ?
Solder joints look fine. It's hard to be 100% sure from the image, though. I suspect what happened is that the trimmers were inserted with the leads at full length, then when the heatsink was added it

Hi all ! My uBiTX v5.0 just delivered ! As you can see from the attached photos, the quality of the wiring of the blue trimmer one is very poor. I am convinced that the board sent to me could not have

Re: bitx v6 is here
Eric, When you tighten the BPF to around 300Hz, it does for sure. This would not be possible on the uBitx without significant rework. Yes, the Goetzel algorithm can be tuned to a specific frequency
