Re: kit-projects.com AGC Question - Missing C3?
As long as you have wired up the switch per our diagrams you are good! The switch in the off position has the pad grounded. And fast and slow have different resistances. So if your not using the S-Meter just leave it floating as its already handled via the switch :) 73 -- Tim Keller - KE2GKB |
Re: kit-projects.com AGC Question - Missing C3?
"Looking at the picture it appears that you have not attached the switch. Without a discharge path from the common (S meter, AGC voltage) to ground then C6 will remain charged and the attenuating transistors will be actively reducing your signal. IMHO. Sorry about not catching this thread earlier, Jerry. I was replying to the emails. 73, Don" So if I'm not using the s-meter output of this AGC board, should I ground that tab or use a specific level of resistance rather than leave it open? 73, Ted |
Re: WSTX/Cat control after multiple attempts frequency Red 0.000.000
Doug,
Good suggestion. Haven't seen the error in last 12 hours since I changed Split operation to None in WSJT. Although I am using Log40M and it likes to know that VFO, it really doesn't have too... (That is the reason for the use of Omnirig, but could also create a virtual port too.) 73 Mark? |

Re: ce v1.2 on a ubitx v5
If you are using a Nextion display, remember that depending on the size, those draw more current, so it is recommended an additional regulator on the case. On Wed, Jul 10, 2019 at 11:32 AM Nick Tile <juggie@...> wrote: belay my last - I spotted my idiot mistake - sorted !! |
WSTX/Cat control after multiple attempts frequency Red 0.000.000
Hi,
Just got my ubitx working with a single USB cable and internal hub with usb sound card. No problem making QSO's and signal reports are fine.? I am running the latest CEC software and Omnirig too. "Occasionally", after lots of attempts to contact another station, (i.e. WSJT watchdog is about to go off), the frequency displayed in WSJT changes to "0.000.000" and is of course in "Red" indicating that WSJT is not happy with the frequency. However, the frequency on my ubitx remains correct and I have even completed a QSO in such a situation (had to fix the logbook entry afterwards) I am guessing it is sometime of timeout error. I currently have Omnirig set at FT-817 with Poll of 500ms and Timeout of 4000ms. Anybody else seen this issue and have a suggestion on a solution? Thanks 73 Mark AJ6CU |
ce v1.2 on a ubitx v5
I've been trying to get Ian's firmware running on a uBitx V5 by loading it to a new Nano to replace the one supplied in the raduino - the firmware loads ok, but when I swap the Nano, its dragging the supply to the display down as though there's a short (the regulator on the raduino gets very hot very quickly).?
I've tried loading various versions of the firmware in case I have a different display - I don't think I have, its a standard 1602 16 x 2 but to no avail so I wondered if there's something really obvious that I'm missing. The "new" nano loads ok so I thinks its alright and the radio is fine with the standard supplied nano. Re: uBitx not receiving well on CWU or CWL
Hi Mike.
Many thanks for your response. Quite a few special event stations on 40mtrs today with frequencies logged on the cluster. I have adjusted the CW RX BFO settings and there is no difference (other than a frequency display change of 700Hz) to the tone received when changing from LSB to CWL. Your setting of?11.055.105 put me in the right ball park. Thanks. The signals are nicely peaked using my narrow 700Hz CW filter now and this matches signals on the main Icom rig now. For others setting this don't forget to press PTT momentarily to save your settings! 73 Derek G4VWI. |
Re: uBitx Blowing Fuse on 20 Meters

that sounds like an excellent idea to back down on the primary drive control -- yes RV1.? your signal should be cleaner if you can get the 40m output down to say 7 watts or less.? most power meters (even the WM2 I use) can't be trusted to extreme accuracy.? a factor of 2 in output power is about one half a S-unit -- so better to be more clean.? I am very surprised to blow the fuse into a (hopefully) 50 ohm load.? possibly a higher current fuse is encouraged.? I don't myself see danger is using a fuse that is 2X the expected current.? most of the time I use a ~ 3 amp power supply to feed by ubitx.? not sure what fuse Sunil supplies but that is what I have in place.? there is a greatly diminishing return on output power versus DC supplied -- if you ever operate using battery - less drive via RV1 is highly preferred - with little loss on the receive end.? 73 Curt |
Re: UBitx v5 Not Saving Calibration or BFO adjustments with CEC v 1.20 Nextion
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI cannot find a manual for Memory Manager only the little mentioned in the CEC firmware 1.072 manual.? How do you calibrate with Memory Manager??? For example, my VFO frequency is always 1.5kHz off, how would I use Memory Manager, by changing the Master Calibration value?? Are these in Hz or other units? ? Jerry ? ? ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Evan Hand ? Have you tried the MemoryManager program from CEC?? It is how I have done calibration when using the CEC software, |
Re: On the air with the "Fish Soup 7" QRP Rig
good thought OM.? let's appreciate the R&D - someday a uBITX could be ready to QSO through a satellite.? I have not tried since the former Soviet RS satellites that were quite nice for a simple station (and maybe operator ....) to use.? enjoy your radiations!?
