Re: SHOULD BE REQUIRED MODS
Hello Mike, I have similar plans for my uBITX but I am doing it for the challenge. Between the uBITX kit, the cost of the parts for the many mods that I have done, the 140 watt PA kit from

Re: SHOULD BE REQUIRED MODS
Hi Mike, I agree with others that you would get to your 100 watt HF radio goal for a lot less money if you shop for a used, working HF rig. Obviously a *new* Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood, Elecraft, etc radio

Re: SHOULD BE REQUIRED MODS
Hi Mike, sorry to hear that. Usually one thinks to disconnect the AC and the antennas and forgets a strike may eventually come the telephone lines. I will keep that in mind too although I usually

Re: SHOULD BE REQUIRED MODS
Mike While there is no clear concensus on details, there seem to be 2 key elements. First, reducing leakage around the low pass filter relays. One method is adding a set of relays on a daughter board

Re: SHOULD BE REQUIRED MODS
?Oh my, Mike!!!! So sorry to hear about your lighning event. I suspect it woud be far cheaper and less frustrating to pick up a used icom radio to get to 100 watts.....

SHOULD BE REQUIRED MODS
Is there a single source list that describes mods necessary to make Ubitx version 4 FCC legal. Is there a single source listing of additional features that can be made for the ver 4 ubitx eg, AGC,

Forgot to answer your question. Yes anything using the RA8875 controller draws too much current. The 3.3V output from any of the Teensy MPU's is a MAX 250ma and the other chips on the board pull

I'm looking at larger displays (would like to avoid the major surgery for a 5", but would like a bigger display than the 2.8"), and I'm seeing a 4.3" TFT with resistive touchscreen, 4-wire SPI, and

Super helpful! By "finicky soldering," I meant specifically the soldering of the SiS5351. :D Can't wait to get started!

Well, the BITeensio isn't offered with the finicky soldering done. That would make it too expensive for most people. Yes, there is a remote control program available on the website that interfaces to

Aloha Jim, I received my kit (realized after I ordered it that I intended to order the next step up, with the fiddly bits of soldering already done, but I'll get help locally and it will be fine), and

Re: PSK 31 not decoding
If you are getting a waterfall with PSK31 signals displayed, I would be a bit puzzled.? Perhaps start with digipan as it tends to be easy to get working.? Make sure you know what a PSK31 signal

Re: Bias adjustment - uBitx
Hi Chuck, As per the instructions it is not a voltage set but a current set. Look it up to confirm my memory that it is 100 mA for each transistor with no signal applied. 73, Bill KU8H -- bark less -
