Well, the BITeensio isn't offered with the finicky soldering done. ?That would make it too expensive for most people. ?Yes, there is a remote control program available on the website that interfaces to the USB port for remote control.

It uses Kenwood protocol to interface with logging programs, etc. as well. ?The programmers guide is downloadable from the website.

I have perused the documentation on your site, and maybe I'm just overlooking it, but can I use CAT rig control? I'm trying to visualize digital mode operation and CAT seems like the "cleanest" way to implement things like keying.
